West Wits Mining Ltd (ASX:WWI, OTCQB:WMWWF) has raised A$1.5 million in before costs, with funds to be used for the company’s flagship #QalaShallows operations, consultants’ costs connected to the bank funding due diligence process and working capital, corporate and offer costs. Earlier this year, a South African Development Finance Institution (DFI) started due diligence for mine development at Qala Shallows — a cornerstone of the Witwatersrand Basin Project. This was a crucial step toward finalising the funding needed to begin operations to transition to a #goldproducer. The company noted in the June quarter that the due diligence conducted by DFI for project funding is now substantially completed. The DFI will proceed with its approval process within the current quarter. West Wits Mining’ flagship Qala Shallows Project in Johannesburg is poised for rapid growth with critical infrastructure completed. The decline and box cut rehabilitation are completed, enabling immediate ore extraction via the existing decline shaft without the need for a plant. Contracts have been adjudicated with key suppliers, including toll processing, mining contractor and underground equipment. The project is fully permitted, with Mining Right and Environmental Authorisation granted. Additionally, a 7.5MVA power allocation has been received and the primary power substation is completed. The Water Use License has been granted, and established water supply infrastructure is installed. An Explosives License has also been received. Our COO and Country Manager (South Africa), Rudi Deysel, recently sat down with Ryan Soutar of Sharewise for a webinar interview and live Q&A session. "Currently, we are targeting a 50%-60% debt-to-equity ratio for funding of our Qala Shallows project. We have secured interest from two major parties: a South African Development Finance Institution and a prominent commercial bank in South Africa. We have completed the due diligence process with the Development Finance Institution and have commenced due diligence with the commercial bank. Aligning the approval and legal processes of these funders is underway, and we are confident that we will complete this by the end of the current quarter, allowing us to commence the project next quarter.
