Women Sport Australia Inc (WSA) is the peak, national, advocacy body for women in sport. We are a volunteer, not-for-profit organisation which fearlessly fights everyday for all women in all sport, on and off the field. WSA's priorities are: + Gender pay equity and a living wage for female athletes; + Equal access to sporting facilities and amenities for all women and girls, on and off the field; + Equal media time and space for women sports and female athletes; + Champion and celebrate female leaders and role models. WSA was formerly known as Australian Womensport and Recreation Association (AWRA) and was incorporated in July 2005.

Embrace Kids exists to help young people build better body image by learning to appreciate and be kind to their bodies. The Activate by Embrace Kids resources aim to support parents, coaches and administrators to create a welcoming, inclusive club culture to prevent young people dropping out of sports and other physical activities because they feel judgement, shame and embarrassment about their bodies. As we enter a stage of transition on our board, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing directors, Iain Roy, Demelza Fellowes and Isaak Dury. All three have given so much to their volunteer roles, and have helped implement change across many different sectors with their skills and passion. Samantha is a cultural storyteller, producer, and leader specialising in building communities of change through vibrant brand identities, dynamic communication strategies, and artistic content. Her work thrives at the intersection of industries such as social impact x sport, entertainment x science, and circles the globe from Australia to the US, Europe, the Middle East, and South Africa. Currently, as the Managing Director of act.3 Australia, she's supercharging the newest office in the German-HQ’s international portfolio, and leading a team of culture marketeers who shape the future of brands through people, community, and culture. Samantha is also a proud UCLA Alumna, mentor, and Board Director for the UCLA Alumni Association. Welcome Sam!
Rounding out our Women in Sport Brunch panel is the talented Sarah Burt. Sarah is a multidisciplinary Sports Journalist based in Melbourne/Naarm with a specific passion for amplifying women’s sport stories, particularly in AFLW, Netball and Cricket. Sarah hosts an AFLW Weekly podcast, is a boundary commentator for the AFLW and a regular writer for ESPN Australia. We can't wait to hear her perspective on why women's stories hit different! We’re so happy to share that Professor Clare Hanlon will be joining the panel at the Women in Sport Brunch this year. Clare is a true champion of women’s sport, who has co-led a national framework for women in sport and was a member on the Victorian Ministerial Inquiry for Women and Girls in Sport and advisor for three State/Territory Governments on infrastructure and systems. Women Sport Australia are proud to have worked with Clare on a number of different initiatives, including her research into uniforms for referee officials.
