✨ **Reflecting on an incredible month of connection and inspiration** ✨ Last month, Co-Directors Kat Baulch and Jacque Lachmund had the absolute privilege of facilitating a workshop for front-line professionals across a range of vital services, including domestic and family violence, foster and kinship care, Indigenous community support, counselling, gambling support, and school support. 💜💪 We travelled to Emerald and Blackwater to connect with an incredible community, and were humbled to see professionals driving more than 3 hours each way from Rockhampton and beyond to come together with their colleagues. 🚗💨 Their dedication to learning how to care for themselves while caring for others is truly inspiring. It was a pleasure hearing their stories, witnessing their passion, and seeing the commitment they bring to their roles. These amazing humans are doing the invisible work to support those who are often less visible—and they inspire us every day. 🙌✨ As a special touch, these photos are from the resource we created post-training, ensuring each person can continue their own self-care journey and have a meaningful memento from the day’s session. 🌿📚 Even when our flight home was delayed, we embraced the chance to explore Emerald and reflect on how fortunate we are to meet such dedicated professionals. 💭💚 We’re so grateful for the work they do and the opportunity to support them in their journey. #FrontLineHeroes #CommunitySupport #DomesticViolenceAwareness #FosterCare #SelfCare #Emerald #Blackwater #Inspiration #Gratitude

✨ Last month, the Co-Directors of Workplace Respect—Jacque Lachmund, Matt Pronger, and Kat Baulch—took to the skies and landed in Sydney to deliver training at Darrell Lea Confectionery Co Pty Ltd. 🍫 What we witnessed was a remarkable dedication from Darrell Lea. Not only were they keen on empowering their staff to recognise, respond to, and refer instances of domestic and family violence (DFV), but they also ensured that every single team member had the chance to participate in our awareness-raising sessions. This meant that we delivered training across all shifts—afternoon, evening, and even at midnight! 🌙 We know the importance of meeting both organisations and individuals where they are, so we tailored our training around their team’s rosters, ensuring each session was engaging and filled with opportunities for reflection, connection, and support. And let’s be honest—the tour of the factory was a career highlight for us! 🍬 Meeting the teams before the sessions created a sense of safety and connection, allowing us to better understand their roles, how they work together, and the importance of knowing each other to foster conversations about safety and respect. Seeing where Kat Baulch's favourite treat is made (spoiler: it’s the raspberry twists) and learning about the process behind the legendary Rocklea Road was the cherry on top of an incredible experience. 🎉 A massive shoutout to George Tran for his unwavering dedication and commitment, belief, and dedication to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected and supported. 👏 #endDFV #NotNowNotEver #DFVPrevention #RespectAtWork

🌻 Last week, Co-Directors Jacque Lachmund & Kat Baulch had the honour of attending the Allison Baden-Clay 'Strive to Be Kind Day' event. This special day, introduced in 2012, brings our community together to share kindness, respect, and positivity—values we all need more of. 🌻 At the event, we connected with over 400 wonderful individuals, all united by a common goal: to honour Allison's memory and strive for kindness in everyday life. It was inspiring to meet so many people passionate about ending the epidemic of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). We were proud to witness the launch of the next phase of the 'Toxic Love' campaign and left with valuable resources, including the Power and Control wheel highlighting technology-facilitated abuse. Though the topics we tackle can be challenging, the day was filled with sunshine, smiles, laughter, and dancing—all in memory of Allison. Let's carry the spirit of 'Strive to Be Kind Day' throughout July and beyond, spreading kindness and making a difference in our communities. Together, we can create a brighter, kinder world. 🌻✨ #StriveToBeKind #KindnessMatters #EndDFV #InMemoryOfAllison

It was a privilege for our Co-Director Jacque Lachmund at Workplace Respect to be on the panel yesterday. After the year we've had, with countless women and children impacted by Domestic and Family Violence (DFV), our commitment to driving change has only strengthened. The level of violence against women in our community is indeed catastrophic, and the scale of the issue can feel overwhelming. However, we must never become numb to the lives lost and the deep personal tragedies behind the numbers. Each and every one of us plays a critical role in ending this violence. We believe in the importance of encouraging healthy discussions and addressing the power, control, and sense of entitlement that underpin DFV. The workplace plays a pivotal role in driving this change, and the insights shared during the "Workplace Responses to Domestic and Family Violence" briefing were invaluable. Revisiting the Champions of Change Coalition "Playing our Part" framework was a timely reminder of the actionable steps we can all take to support employees experiencing DFV, address those using violence and abuse, and amplify our impact through our networks. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our speakers, Micaela Cronin, Moo Baulch, Jacque Lachmund, Catherine McNair, and Dale Connor, for their contributions. Their encouragement to understand the breadth of the issue and to normalise the conversation about DFV in the workplace is crucial. Thank you to all the members who joined the briefing for your ongoing dedication to preventing and responding to DFV. Together, we can continue to be a catalyst for change. Let's be part of the change. 🌟 #ChampionsOfChangeCoalition #EndViolence #WorkplaceSafety #GenderEquality #PlayingOurPart

I was totally energised by the Jacobs Women’s Network #InternationalWomeninEngineeringDay celebration today. We talked about how engineering and infrastructure projects will be at the forefront in building gender equality and inclusion into the future and discussed practical applications of our 7 Switches framework. We have such an incredible opportunity now to take a much more systematic and intentional approach in decisions and design processes. This is a new frontier that Champions of Change Coalition is pursuing with its Members and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Equity 2030 Alliance. Thank you to Steve Demetriou, Eva Wood, Somoud Al Masri, Jess Holgate, Emma Keating, Sarah Alexander and the entire Jacobs team for being such wonderful collaborators and Members of our Coalition. https://lnkd.in/dCH6CAQ9 Annika Freyer Julie BissinellaColeen MacKinnonNigina Muntean Bec Roberts

🌟 This past weekend, our Workplace Respect Co-Director, Jacque Lachmund, had the honour of attending the Real Men rally, an event dedicated to preventing domestic violence and empowering men to be allies in creating safer communities. It was a powerful gathering filled with inspirational messages from incredible speakers, including the Queensland Police Commissioner, Steve Gollschewski, the Honourable Attorney-General & Minister for Justice and Minister for the Prevention of DFV, Yvette D'ATH Ms Australian 2024, Amy Rastall, The City of Moreton Bay Mayor, Peter Flannery, Small Steps for Hannah facilitator and ambassador, Dave Kramer, and Jet Xavier, who showcased the transformative power of behavioural change programmes. Each speaker emphasised the strength of collective action. When we come together to engage, discuss, and connect, we can end domestic and family violence (DFV). We were reminded of the increasing Domestic Violence Orders (DVO) across Queensland and Moreton Bay, highlighting that violence is never the answer, regardless of circumstances. Dave Kramer addressed the cultural issues at the heart of this problem, pointing out how our society's sexism and devaluation of women contribute to DFV. He stressed that while not all men will perpetrate violence, every man has a role in ending it. Accountability is the first step towards change. Jet Xavier's heartfelt story illustrated his journey from using violence to accepting responsibility and the positive impact of counselling and support on creating better lives for those affected by DFV. Jacque Lachmund concluded with a message of hope, reminding us that we all play a role in fostering positive societal and community change. We hope this rally sparks a community movement that drives conversations, connections, and lasting behavioural change. Let's stand together to say #NotNowNotEver and ensure #DVStopsWithMe. 🌟 #EndDFV #CommunityChange #HopeForTheFuture
