  • On Friday, 7th of March, ten of our team members attended the @UN Women Australia International Women’s Day Luncheon, joining a room full of leaders and changemakers dedicated to accelerating action for gender equality. The theme, March Forward, was a powerful call to continue pushing for progress. We reflected on how far we’ve come and the work still ahead, hearing from inspiring speakers who reminded us that every action—big or small—can drive meaningful change. 📌 Key Takeaways: ▪️ “Today on IWD, I am realistic. But I am also optimistic and hopeful. Why? Because as your Governor-General, I meet Australian women who turn promises into progress, every day, without hesitation.” – Her Excellency, the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC ▪️ “Everything you do has impact, and don’t you ever underestimate it.” – Maria Thattil ▪️ “Step into your power.” – Celeste Barber At Workwear Group, we’re committed to marching forward by supporting women as leaders and removing barriers to career progression. With 60% of our workforce and 47% of leadership roles held by women, we remain focused on creating a workplace where women can thrive. 📌 Team Reflections: ▪️ “What I most enjoyed about the event? Meeting and talking to the group of women sitting at my table—a diverse group with amazing career journeys.” – Soraya Cahill ▪️ “There is so much to be said by just simply sharing, learning from each other, and choosing what we take on to shape our own view, development, and growth.” – Julie Skelton A huge thank you to @UN Women Australia for hosting such a powerful and thought-provoking event. We left feeling energised and ready to keep marching forward. #IWD2025 #MarchForward #GenderEquality #UNWomenAustralia #AccelerateAction #WorkwearGroup #Empowerment #WomenInLeadership #CommitmentToEquality

  • Celebrating International Women’s Day with The Big Issue   On Friday, we had the opportunity to celebrate International Women’s Day with @The Big Issue, reaffirming our commitment to gender equality. At Workwear Group, we’re marching forward on gender equality by supporting women to develop as leaders and overcome barriers to career progression. We’re proud that women make up 60% of our workforce, and more than 47% of our leadership positions are held by women. We believe meaningful work provides purpose, pride, and independence. Since 2022, we’ve partnered with The Big Issue, supporting their mission to create work opportunities for those facing homelessness and disadvantage through financial support, volunteering, and uniforms. We’re proud to contribute to their incredible impact. A key part of this partnership is supporting The Big Issue’s Women’s Workforce, an enterprise that provides safe, accessible employment along with connection, structure, and security. This has included decommissioning our garments for recycling, creating even more opportunities for meaningful work. The event featured an inspiring panel discussion, where guest speakers—including a member of the Women’s Workforce—spoke about the 2025 International Women’s Day theme: “For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” Their conversation highlighted the importance of creating opportunities that uplift and support women from all backgrounds, ensuring that no one is left behind. As part of the panel, Carly Little, our Chief Officer for People and Corporate Affairs, shared what IWD means for Workwear Group and the impact of the Women’s Workforce on gender equality more broadly: "I hope for a world where nobody gets left behind – and access to a safe environment and opportunities for connection and employment have a huge part in that, as do good role models. It could be a manager, a mentor, or a colleague – but knowing that there's someone ‘in your corner’ makes a big difference.” The event also shone a light on the life-changing impact of the Women’s Workforce. A member of the program shared her personal story, reflecting on how safe, secure work and a supportive network helped her rebuild her life after fleeing domestic violence. Her journey was a testament to the strength that comes from opportunity, connection, and the chance to start anew. As we reflect on IWD, we remain committed to championing opportunities that empower women and create lasting change. #IWD2025 #MarchingForward #GenderEquality #TheBigIssue #WorkwearGroup #Empowerment

  • At Workwear Group, safety is always at the forefront of everything we do. Our teams regularly take part in ‘Walk the Talk’ safety checks, where we walk the site, observe safety practices, and engage with staff and contractors to ensure everything is running smoothly. This week, our Marketing Team made the time to get involved by visiting our warehouse site and bringing fresh eyes and a new perspective on how well risks are controlled and safety systems are implemented. These visits are an invaluable way to test our practices, discuss what’s working well, and identify areas where we can continue to enhance our safety culture. By identifying opportunities for corrective actions and sharing these with the team, we’re continuously improving our safety systems and fostering a culture of shared responsibility. Every step we take helps create a safer, more efficient environment for everyone.

  • Workwear Group strives to do the right thing by its people, the environment, and the communities it operates in. Our community focus is on forming meaningful long-term partnerships with not-for-profit social enterprises. As part of our partnership with The Big Issue, Workwear Group has proactively sought opportunities to leverage its professional skills, expertise and connections to support employment opportunities for the Women’s Workforce. A key focus has been on leveraging its networks to identify and support The Big Issue to test long-term, scalable employment programs. In FY24, we facilitated a pilot partnership between The Big Issue Women’s Workforce and a local textile recovery and recycling company, to provide new skills for Women’s Workforce employees to learn about upcycling and decommissioning textiles. This financial year, The Big Issue will assess and share learnings from the pilot with Workwear Group to understand the potential for pursuing an ongoing employment program related to textile decommissioning. #WorkwearGroup #TheBigIssue #Community #CorporatePartnership

  • Workwear Group is committed to reducing its environmental footprint, taking action to address climate change and contributing to a low-carbon and sustainable future. In FY24, Workwear Group partnered with Qantas to implement three significant sustainability initiatives to reduce product and garment packaging waste: - Removing foam inserts from luggage, traditionally used for product protection during shipping. This change significantly reduced single-use waste to landfill while maintaining product safety and durability.  - Removing plastic hangers from trench coat liners to reduce single-use plastics without compromising garment integrity or quality.  - Replacing plastic tape with biodegradable paper tape to make recycling easier and further reduce plastic pollution. These initiatives showcase how Workwear Group can help reduce customer’s plastic waste while maintaining quality standards, through thoughtful changes to packaging and materials. #WorkwearGroup #Qantas #Sustainability #Environment #WasteReduction

  • As part of our waste diversion activities at Workwear Group, we seek opportunities to donate excess or obsolete workwear items to not-for-profit organisations and/or individuals in need. This ensures an extended or second life for unused clothing and reduces our potential emissions impacts. In FY24, Workwear Group New Zealand donated 5,100 kilograms of unused workwear items to the New Zealand Department of Corrections. These items were then available for permanently or temporarily released prisoners, including those undertaking employment opportunities through the Department of Corrections’ work release program, which aims to reduce the likelihood of reoffending. In Australia, Workwear Group donated 14 pallets of new workwear items to The Salvation Army to be sold in their stores. Profits from instore purchases are used to help fund The Salvation Army programs to end hunger and homelessness, and to build stronger families and communities. #WorkwearGroup #SalvationArmy #Salvos #Donations

  • In October, Workwear Group’s iconic brand KingGee had the opportunity to support Indigenous Women in Mining and Resources Australia (IWIMRA) as they represented at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC). Through this collaboration, KingGee provided workwear for the IWIMRA delegation, ensuring they were equipped with durable, high-performance gear to showcase their leadership and contributions on a global stage. The feedback from the team was overwhelmingly positive and we’re proud to have played a part in empowering First Nations women to lead with purpose and confidence. IWIMRA’s mission to amplify the voices of Indigenous women in the mining and resources sector aligns with Workwear Group’s values of innovation and inclusivity. #WorkwearGroup #KingGee #IWIMRA #WorkwearWithPurpose #IMARC
