👏 Thanks Climateworks Centre for inviting YEF to a highly engaging Net Zero Leaders panel at Monash University this week, alongside fabulous panellists Alison Read Telstra and Samuel Dawes Carbon Market Institute (CMI). YEF's COO Timothy Shue shared insights on #neighbourhood #batteries and their role in the energy transition. The good news is cleantech costs are coming down while becoming even more efficient! Great to be part of a diverse and engaged cohort of future climate leaders :)
A big thank you to our panellists who joined us at Monash University for yesterday's net zero leaders panel and Q&A session: Samuel Dawes, Director - Integrity and Compliance, Carbon Market Institute (CMI) Timothy Shue, Chief Operating Officer, Yarra Energy Foundation Alison Read, Senior Climate and Environment Specialist, Telstra As the semester draws to a close, I love the key messages our BEX5200 Climate Change and Carbon Management Strategies students were left with. What stood out for me is that our values act as a compass in the transition to net zero 🧭 The stories shared also highlighted the necessity of diverse expertise in addressing climate challenges and caring for communities. The era of niche climate roles is behind us, emphasising the need for collaboration across corporate, non-corporate and public sectors. Bringing together interesting and purpose-driven humans is a highlight of my work at Climateworks Centre within Monash Sustainable Development Institute. Thank you Steven Kelly for leading this session with your magical hosting abilities. Finally, I'm grateful for our students for asking thoughtful and fascinating questions.

🌏 Building on the overseas interest in #neighbourhood #batteries, we were delighted to host another international delegation of senior leaders and consultants from Vietnam Electricity, The World Bank, and Intelligent Energy Systems (IES) this week. Despite our separate geographies, there were very similar challenges for Vietnam's #energy #transition, like the need for robust transmission infrastructure, energy security, and batteries as both countries progress towards greener and cleaner energy grids. A fascinating discussion, thank you for visiting!
