What a privilege to meet so many passionate educators, so dedicated to the health, happiness, potential and well-being of our young people, at the fabulous PDHPE Teachers' Association Conference! The multi-award winning YOU CHOOSE Program is professionally aligned to the Personal and Social Capability elements of the Australian Curriculum, placing participants into profound reflection upon the connections between their intentions, their choices, their actions and the people they love. The personal and social dynamics of impulsivity and passivity are revealed, which equips students to exchange commitments to speak and to act in protection of each other, their families and their communities. What a huge month for the YOU CHOOSE mission...across many states and thousands of new advocates for changed passenger and driver behaviour. 😉 Proof that teens themselves are the solution to reversing Australia’s legacy myths about ‘accidents’, ‘bad luck’ and ‘rites of passage’. Almost every car crash is preventable - and so much harm and trauma generally - by acting on our intentions to look out for each other. To protect the people we 💗 with the choices we make. Thank you so much to every participating student, teacher, parent and first responder who is carrying YOU CHOOSE on their shoulders...saving lives one friendship group, one family, one community at a time. 👍🏻 One amazing example of many is Evie from Queensland: ‘I created a legacy project, one that I was extremely passionate about. I partnered with the TMC, which is a government funded organisation to which we’re able to merge during school time with their driving school. I sent our applications to years, 10, 11, and 12 to initially benefit those disadvantage situations who do not have the same privileges to gain a license that others might. This program has been running successfully and I am very proud to have instigated to foster a safe driving environment around our school and further to benefit the community overall’ Wow! Great job Evie!! 💪💪 And...a big shout out to our teachers and educators - see you at the PDHPE Teachers' Association conference in beautiful Ballina later this month!

Reinforcing regulatory and compliance protocols with worker-led social/cultural frameworks is more than an aspiration...it is a wholly achievable outcome. YOU CHOOSE is excited to work with the innovative and visionary team at Vickon on enabling every worker to recognise passivity, exchange permissions to act, and to 'step into' protecting each other and each other's families from preventable harm. YOU CHOOSE and Veteran Mentors have a years-long connection, with many shared philosophies and objectives that bind our social-purpose programs. The transformative effect that Veteran Mentors camps have on young participants and their families is profound, as they reflect on their true feelings about themselves and the people they care most about. It’s so moving to see the changes in these teens from the start to the end of a camp, and the positive, optimistic challenges ahead when they re-connect with their families. YOU CHOOSE is privileged to contribute to such an important, impactful community asset. 💪 This week...a young man approached me after the YOU CHOOSE segment to share that he recognised that although he loves him Mum more than anyone else, his choices were causing her pain and harm. He saw that no amount of good intentions matter if his actions don’t match them. A revealing and empowering moment - setting aside passivity and stepping into accountability for protecting a loved one. Well done! 💗 And well done as always to Troy, Glenn, Sammy and the amazing big-hearted team at Veteran Mentors - continuing to serve your country with the utmost passion, selflessness and honour. 🙏

Great work by many hundreds of Qld and NSW students over the last couple of weeks! 😉. So many innovative YOU CHOOSE initiatives being put into practical action by young people across both states recently which will practically protect friends, school-communities and families from totally preventable harm. AWESOME to see so many young people activating their instincts to match good intentions to great actions! 🙏 September and October will see thousands of students in South Australia and the ACT join the YOU CHOOSE culture-change mission, and continue their school's engagement in the program to replace the passivity of luck with the empowerment of choice. It will be so great to learn from this new cohort and to connect again with our teen advocates in SA and ACT. See you soon! 💪

An amazing 24 000 students attended BStreetSmart at Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney last week. It's a great privilege to continue our partnership with the team at BStreetSmart as they celebrate 20 years of dedication to saving young lives on NSW roads.
