Quantum Australia (QA) aims to build strategic relationships across industry, research, consumer and government stakeholders to drive innovation and research translation.

The role of QA will be to provide networking and awareness for the quantum sector, ensuring that different commercial and institutional research players have an ecosystem-wide understanding of progress that is being made across the sector.

The ambition is for QA to be established as the hub for the quantum sector in Australia; to deepen our nation's relationships with potential international partners, enabling the transfer of knowledge and capital, whilst retaining ownership of our sovereign international property.

The Chief Executive Officer

Quantum Australia (QA) is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic and operational management to the organisation. The CEO is responsible for establishing and leading the implementation, operationalisation, and delivery of QA's strategic plan and vision.

Working closely with key University stakeholders, the CEO will liaise closely with partner universities (including administrative universities for Nodes), the QA External Advisory Board, the QA Consortium Committee and the various Board Sub-Committees and Advisory Groups (among others) to promote Quantum Australia among government, industry, university and community stakeholders.

The CEO will manage the staff of central headquarters in the University of Sydney, as well as overseeing the development and implementation of QA's programs, including:

• Quantum Ecosystem Development
• Translation Accelerator and
• Entrepreneurship Support

Key Requirements

• Experience engaging with and attracting investment from industry
• Experience in operations and/or setting up systems
• Experience in strategic leadership, people management and development
• Experience in financial management and operational reporting
• Advanced stakeholder management skills including a proven track record in building effective relationships across diverse and senior stakeholders in business, government and research

Term and remuneration

The term of the appointment is a 3-year fixed term. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
