The opportunity

An exciting opportunity to join our Business Continuity team, working with some of the best Business Continuity leaders in Australia.

In this role you will work as part of a team to implement and maintain QBE’s Business Continuity Program to support effective response to disruptions and meet compliance requirements.

Your new role


  • Liaise with Business Partners in coordinating the annual BCM Program and identify opportunities to improve recovery solutions
  • Support the planning and execution of the divisional BCM calendar of activities around BCM life cycle: business impact assessment, BC Plan reviews, exercises
  • Delivery and facilitating of training and exercises for business continuity, ensuring plans are in place and contingency arrangements and/or capabilities are fit for purpose and present an effective response
  • Support key stakeholders in the coordination of responses to business disruption events, including the support to the BCM Team lead in the operation of the Crisis Management Team
  • Conduct post-exercise and post-incident/crisis evaluation and reporting
  • Support key stakeholders across the business with BCM advice, e.g. third-party risk, audits, Disaster Recovery, Cyber, Crisis Communications



About You

We are looking for a proactive and problem solving person who is passionate about what they do! The ideal candidate is someone who has worked within a similar role or projects and can apply their skills, knowledge and expertise to ensure positive outcomes.


  • Substantial experience within a business continuity/resilience role, preferably within banking, insurance or financial services
  • Understanding of Crisis Management and Business Continuity standards and practice (BS: 11200:2014) and (ISO 22301:2012)
  • Experience in developing and facilitating business continuity exercises
  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships along with excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Threat Monitoring systems and/or BCM Systems such as Fusion RM, while not essential would be highly advantageous
