Major Accountabilities/Principal Responsibilities:

We are currently recruiting a VP – Corporate Finance in Sydney, Australia. This is an exciting opportunity within a fast-paced, results focused, global organisation that values diversity. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Regional Head of Corporate Finance – Asia Pacific, to build out the Corporate Finance business in Australia. They will have the opportunity to build close relationships with the teams onshore and within the organization more broadly on a regional and global basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing senior support of both M&A and Equity Private Placement (“EPP”) transaction primarily in the Energy Transition sector, covering Asia Pacific with a key focus on Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Origination with new and existing clients and supporting the execution of M&A and EPP deal transactions in the Energy sector.
  • Holding a key leadership/coordination role in the transaction execution process on day-to-day basis
  • Performing financial modelling including valuation and pricing analyses
  • Preparing and delivering presentations, pitchbooks and marketing materials
  • Driving the initiation of new client relationships and expanding the business franchise across industries
  • Assisting to maintain strong client relations during and after the deal execution process.
  • Working in collaboration with other team members as well as colleagues from the financing business lines based locally and overseas
  • Providing guidance and development of junior team members including appropriate delegation and review of tasks
  • Maintaining strong connectivity with the market, understanding the needs of the different corporate clients and industry groups, leveraging on market intelligence to provide feedback internally and improve capabilities within the team.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor’s or master's Degree or equivalent
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in M&A or Investment Banking
  • Proven capability building strong relationships with corporate clients
  • Strong technical knowledge of M&A transactions, modelling and analytics
  • Strong ability in Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel

  • Proven analytical skills as well as exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Commercial acumen, strong corporate knowledge and persistence in addressing clients’ needs

  • Strong sense of accountability,
  • Ability to work in a team environment and with teams based in different geographical locations
  • Proven ability to work in an evolving multicultural environment with people with diverse, international backgrounds
