Helping Australians to create better tomorrows since 1992.

About us

The AMP Foundation purpose is to help people create their tomorrow. Our help comes in the form of capability development and funding. For over 30 years, the AMP Foundation has helped community-based organisations dedicated to helping those in need. Our mandate is to deliver meaningful social impact, and our grants have powered many of the organisations that now form the backbone of Australia’s nonprofit and social enterprise sectors. The AMP Foundation purchased the first social impact bond in Australia and helped fund the establishment of Social Ventures Australia (SVA) and the Centre for Social Impact (CSI). Today, we have a three-pronged approach to achieving our social impact: impact investing; social enterprise development; and philanthropy in the form of dollar-matching AMP employee philanthropic endeavours. Social impact is integral to who we are. At the heart of our work is a simple belief that our role is to make things easier for those who are creating a better tomorrow for people experiencing disadvantage. Our help is a combination of capability development and funding, and we fulfill our purpose through two avenues: 1. Our corpus investment has two components: A diversified investment portfolio in the mainstream Australian markets with a minimum endeavour to "do no harm". 2. An impact investment portfolio, representing 10% of our corpus, that addresses critical social issues. Our annual programs: Our Tomorrow Makers program and our AMPlifiers program are the heartbeat of the AMP Foundation’s ongoing social impact.

AMP Foundation - Program Manager HELPING PEOPLE create THEIR TOMORROW

A Day at Parramatta Mission: More Than Just a Meal! Yesterday, I had the privilege of stepping away from my desk and spending the day at Parramatta Mission, serving lunch to members of the homeless community. It was an experience that left a real impact on me—not just because of the faces I met or the stories I heard, but because of the realisation that community service goes far beyond what we often imagine. At the AMP Foundation, we often talk about the importance of giving back, and we support many teams with the financial resources to take part in volunteering days, but being there, reminded me just how critical it is for each of us to physically step into our communities. It’s not enough to sit behind the desk and advocate for change. We need to be out there, getting involved, truly understanding the work our charity partners do. Parramatta Mission offers so much more than just food. Yes, the meal was important—perhaps the most tangible form of care—but what really stood out was the holistic support they provide: mental health services, emergency accommodation, counselling, and the list goes on. Each person who came through the door wasn’t just receiving a plate of food; they were being treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. It made me reflect on how essential these wrap-around services are in helping people regain their footing in life. I walked away from the experience with a renewed sense of why we, as an organisation, encourage our employees to get involved in volunteering. There’s something incredibly powerful about connecting with the people we’re helping. Seeing the direct impact of our contributions, makes everything we do at the AMP Foundation—every grant, every volunteer hour, every fundraising effort—so much more real. I not only encourage all AMP employees, but I encourage you as individuals to take the opportunity to get out into the community, even if just for a day. The work you’ll witness, the lives you’ll touch, and the perspective you’ll gain is immeasurable. We’re making a difference, and it’s incredible to see firsthand the ripple effect of the AMP Foundation’s support. #volunteerimpact #parramattamission #bethechange #servewithheart

Aged Care Recruitment Manager | Podcast Host of the "Leaders in Aged Care" series | Check out my profile to view guest & episode list. Message me for a chat about your recruitment needs or to be featured on the Podcast!

Podcast – Leaders in Aged Care with Jimmy Leishman, Episode 68 **Do Not Miss This One** This episode is special not only because of Jimmy's boundless energy (he has no off switch) or his mission to connect everyone in Aged Care through storytelling, but also because he has agreed to be my co-speaker at the National ACCPA Conference in Adelaide this week. We'll be speaking at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 24th. When you hear his story, you'll understand why the synergy in our missions made him the obvious choice to help me keep it together on stage. So without further ado, I’m thrilled to introduce our latest guest on the Leaders in Aged Care Podcast— Jimmy Leishman, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of TeaTime.   Jimmy’s journey started on a park bench during the height of the pandemic, feeling the weight of isolation while awaiting news from his wife’s scan. In that moment, he realized the profound impact loneliness can have on all of us—and he decided to act. What followed was the birth of TeaTime, a groundbreaking platform that is changing the way families, residents, and care providers connect in aged care.   From the garden of an aged care home to a conversation validating a resident’s memories, Jimmy saw firsthand how powerful technology could be when used to create connections. That lightning-bolt moment became his mission—to use technology not just to document life, but to enrich it. And he hasn’t looked back since.   TeaTime isn’t just an app; it’s a movement. Built to be secure, closed-loop, and family-focused, it’s already transforming aged care communities. With over 2,000 moments shared since its launch in February and a growing user base across five aged care brands, Jimmy and his team are sprinting towards their goal of connecting families worldwide.   In a world where headlines can sometimes cast a shadow over the good work done in aged care, Jimmy and the TeaTime team are a beacon of light. They’re not just connecting families—they’re reshaping narratives, one moment at a time.   Tune in to this week’s episode to hear how Jimmy, Ed, and the TeaTime team are making a difference and where they’re heading next. And for every aged care professional out there wondering if they can make a change, remember: the bat signal went up—and TeaTime answered.

I'm thrilled to share that the story of the Remote OpShop Project has been featured in this month's Marie Claire magazine! It beautifully captures the spirit of what we're working to achieve - equal access for everyone, no matter where you live. "What keeps me moving forward are stories from women about the pride they have in owning and running their own store and being able to provide their families with access to things that everybody should have. For example, buying a towel for $2 in the op shop that would normally cost $30 in their local store means mothers don't have to choose between buying basics or food for their family." Thanks to Alice Moffitt for capturing this story, Stephanie Coombes for the beautiful photos, and my Urapunga family featured in their incredible NAIDOC Week outfits. A massive thank you to Marie Claire Magazine for recognising the power of this project and giving it a platform. Special mentions in this story for our supporting partners: AMP Foundation, AgriFutures Australia (Westpac) and Project Net Zero. #RemoteOpShop #MarieClaire #CircularEconomy #FirstNationsEmpowerment #CommunityLed #SustainableFashion #SocialEnterprise #SelfDetermination Nicola Stokes GAICD, Lucy Watson, Tom Allen, Sheridan Ingold, Brad Higgins AICD, Donna Digby GAICD, Eileen Breen.
