💖 A Heartfelt Thank You to Flight Centre Foundation and Flight Centre Travel Group staff Last Friday, we were thrilled to visit our amazing corporate partner Flight Centre Travel Group and Flight Centre Foundation at their South Bank Head office in Brisbane. Flight Centre Travel Group staff participated in a fun filled afternoon of enrichment toy making creating tug toys, snuffle balls, snuffle mats and fun toys for cats and kittens. These enrichment items provide fun activities for keeping animals active, engaged, and mentally stimulated during their time in care while they wait for their fur-ever homes. These will benefit animals in care at RSPCA Queensland. Our visit featured special guest, Alfie, a 6-year-old dachshund from the RSPCA Animal Care Campus. Alfie enjoyed all of the pats and attention he received from the Flight Centre team. We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Flight Centre Foundation and the support of Flight Centre Travel Group staff who generously gave their volunteer hours towards supporting Happy Paws Happy Hearts and helping us enhance the well-being of animals in care. We look forward to welcoming several Flight Centre Travel Group team members out to Wacol in November where we will hand-deliver some of the enrichment toys to the animals personally. Thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm, partnership, and generosity.  Suzi Borgelt Felicity Hibbins #FlightCentreTravelGroup #FlightCentreFoundation #EnrichmentToys #RSPCAQld #CorporatePartnerships #HPHH

Flight Centre Employee Benefits - Workplace Giving 👐 Working at Flight Centre Travel Group isn't only rewarding for yourself but can be for others too. Through Flight Centre Foundation there are many wonderful opportunities to donate your time or money to some incredibly worthy organisations. All employees have the option to sign up to Workplace Giving where each month a designated amount will be deducted from their pay to be donated towards any one of our Charity Partners or Giving Grants Winners. This can be as little or as large of an amount as you want and there's no doubt it makes an incredible impact on the organisations we work with. Further to that, employees are given one Volunteer Leave Day a year where they can spend their time volunteering, which doesn't come out of their Annual Leave. One of the more unique benefits and ways for employees to give to others is our workplace Giving Bank, which is the opportunity to donate up to 20 unused personal leave days a year for other employees to have access to when they need it most and don't have any personal leave available. If you want to work for a company that does more for it's community come and work for Flight Centre. 📢 FREE DEFENCE FAMILIES PROGRAM LAUNCH AT DAKABIN 📍 Following the success of our previous eight Defence Families Programs and the recent completion at Wacol, we're excited to launch the next Program at RSPCA Dakabin! 📅 Running every Saturday from 1-3 pm between *UPDATED* 19 October through to 14th December 2024, the program is completely FREE to attend thanks to our partnership with RSL Queensland. This unique 9-week program is designed for current and former Australian Defence Force members and their families. It offers a fantastic opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones, strengthen communication and connect with other Defence families with similar lived experiences, building social networks and forming meaningful connections. Of course, this is all while helping animals at RSPCA Queensland on their own recovery journey, learning valuable animal training skills through a curated program run by specialist Program Trainers. Families can attend with or without the serving or ex-serving family member in attendance based on availability and family needs. Our program was recently highlighted in RSL News' "Wave of Wellness" edition (pages 18 to 21). Follow the link below to learn more about the program and hear firsthand from one of our participants, Army Reservist Eloise, in an exclusive interview discussing her experiences and the positive outcomes she’s achieved https://lnkd.in/gWpGqBWn If you're interested in learning more or would like to sign up for the program, please call us on 1300 077 984 or email hello@hphhfoundation.org. You can also visit our Defence Families Program web page at: https://lnkd.in/gempqPry ⏳With enrolments already coming in, don’t miss your opportunity to be a part of this special funded program! #DefenceFamilies #RescueAnimals #SocialConnection #HPHH #RSLQueensland #VeteranPrograms

Our second Victorian Meals for the Mob experience was another resounding success. A dozen enthusiastic Flight Centre Travel Group volunteers were joined by FareShare First Nations Officer Jason Mollenhauer and community members from Aborigines Advancement League for a meaningful afternoon in the FareShare Abbotsford kitchen.   Together, they assembled and packed 436 nutritious, ready-to-eat Meals for the Mob, which will support First Nations communities across Victoria. On the menu: lamb chops on a lentil braise with broccoli and a spicy tomato sauce, yum! They also prepped 160kgs of pork and a heap of broccoli, snow peas, sugar snap peas, and capsicum, to be cooked into more meals by our talented chefs.   A big thank you to everyone who participated, and to Flight Centre Foundation for your generous support of FareShare. #MealsfortheMob #community #impact #resilience #leadership #teamvolunteering #FirstNations #Victoria

We were delighted to spend time with Flight Centre Travel Group team members who graciously used their volunteering hours to assist Happy Paws Happy Hearts yesterday. Led by our Partnerships Training Specialist and seasoned animal trainer, Justin Palazzo-Orr, team members gained valuable insights into the inner workings of rescue shelters. During the session they explored various types of food enrichment and learned why enrichment is vital for animal mental stimulation. They then had a fun time getting hands-on, creating a variety of enrichment activities using recyclable items and kibble for the shelter animals. They discovered how crucial the time and social connection provided by volunteers are to rescue animals. The generous time given yesterday by the Flight Centre Travel Group team members went towards enhancing an animal’s stay, boosting their socialisation and overall wellbeing, which can positively impact their chances of being adopted. They also learned how to build strong connections and foster trust with rescue animals, spending quality in-pen time training and playing with some adorable, adoptable puppies at RSPCA Queensland. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to provide the team with a glimpse into some of the positive outcomes of HPHH programs on paws and hearts, and how partnerships such as this one with Flight Centre Foundation assists HPHH to grow its reach and impact. A massive thank you to the team, Flight Centre Travel Group and Flight Centre Foundation for giving back to HPHH. We look forward to welcoming more team members out to Happy Paws Happy Hearts for volunteering sessions in the future! Suzi Borgelt, Felicity Hibbins

It was raining glitter and donations over the weekend! 💴✨ Flight Centre Travel Group hosted its annual end of financial year event 'Flichella' over the weekend and we were proud to represent Flight Centre Foundation with our cash grab booth! Flighties took a break from the dance floor to come make a mad grab at some cash, and every dollar that was grabbed was matched by us and donated towards our wonderful charities. We're still tallying up our dollars (they grabbed a lot 😅) so the exact amount is yet to be announced but we'd like to thank all of you who came down and had some fun with us for the night in the name of a good cause 😊 #Flichella #FlightCentreTravelGroup

Tonight our Global MD Andrew Stark will brave the coldest and longest night of the year representing Flight Centre at the Vinnies CEO Sleepout. We're incredibly proud of Starky, who has already raised more than $27,000 to help the fight to end homelessness in Australia. He joins more than 300 other senior executives sleeping out in Queensland with a collective goal of raising $1.5 million. Every night, more than 22,000 individuals in Queensland experience homelessness. With the cost-of-living, and ongoing housing crisis this number is increasing every day and events like the CEO Sleepout raises vital funds and awareness to make a real impact to those in need.  Good luck Starky!
