Last weekend, we kicked off the 2024 #PathwaysToPoliticsForWomen program with our new cohort! The cohort began by reflecting on what they wished to get from the program, receiving advice on how to make the most of the three workshops, and starting to explore their own personal roadmaps in politics. On Friday night, our facilitators, advisory committee, and alum came together to welcome the new cohort to the Pathways family. This included connecting with some of the alum who were elected in the March Queensland local elections. Our 2024 cohort and the alum participated in a hybrid event, where they were divided into small groups to discuss and ask questions about the alumnae's journeys from the Pathways program to political office. We look forward to our next workshop where we will explore campaigning, fundraising, media training, political speeches and economics. We would like to thank our speakers, Bree James, Ann Aitken, Mayor Jos Mitchell, Minister Meaghan Scanlan, Sophia Li, Fiona Hammond, Benita Suckling, Cr Jodie Shipway, Tanya Milligan, Angie Bell, Julie-Ann Campbell, Minister Leanne Linard, Melina Morgan, Kate Samois, Cr Trina Massey, Cr Nicole Johnston, Kate Flanders, Barbara O’Shea, Cr Julia Dixon, Maggie Forrest, and Michaela Sargent.
