bamdumtss This album invokes the best feelings I had when I was exploring the open world in the game, which is my favorite part of it. The game world's mystical charm is fully represented here.

Alrihkh Meditations is a perfect title for this album. It’s unobtrusive, oriental-hued ambience is great for focused listening or for background audio when you’re not wanting your thoughts to be distracted. It’s spell is subtle and pleasant. Acoustical strings are gently plucked/strummed; oriental-sounding wind instruments weave their magic; etc. A wonderful bargain for 2 hrs of peaceful, reflective music. Well done, Mr. Wintory & cohorts! I highly recommend this ambient masterpiece! 9/10.

Boots Gorgeous textures. I prefer this to the main album for the background quality. Bravo to the top-class musicians! Favorite track: Awakening, one.

Stephen Savage With such a range of emotions, this album is definitely one of the best that Wintory has every produced. Symphonic and epic to intimate and gentle: this album is something to behold. Favorite track: Rite.

Dorte The official soundtrack's "little sibling" is awesome if you prefer a somewhat more chill time with the same style and instruments. No battle music, nothing to adventurous - meditations, as the title says, the beautiful music illustrating the walk across the beautiful landscapes in the game. Favorite track: Shoreline.

Because THE PATHLESS has an open world design in which the player has great freedom to explore, the music in-game is designed to be very flexible and expansive. As you roam, the score has various methods by which it remixes and rearranges material, to avoid anything ever feeling repetitious or fatiguing.

The initial soundtrack album focused on the primary narrative beats of the story, specifically the Hunter's journey from start to end. As a result, a huge amount of the music was cut or heavily abbreviated. This album provides most of that cut music, and is also more representative of how one might experience it in-game. That said, the more exciting variations that are possible are skipped here too, to make for a hopefully very relaxed, introspective listening experience.
