With a heavy heart that we share the news of the death of our well-respected colleague and friend, Mr. Les Tulleth. Les worked for Global Santa Fe when he moved to Baku to start working for Caspian Drilling Company, the first joint venture to perform drilling services in the Caspian region between State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and Santa Fe International. Since then, Les served the company at different capacities and most recently he served as Deputy General Director for Drilling Services. He was among the most knowledgeable people in our company when it came to rig operations, colleagues and Client’s representatives who worked around him benefitted immeasurably from his leadership and experience. Les will be sorely missed and never forgotten. We extend our condolences to his family, friends, and everyone who are impacted by this loss.

On July 3rd 2024, Mr.Bayram Isayev was invited to CDC Main office and awarded for best HSE Performance during 2023 by Company CEO Mr.Eltchin Aghakishiyev. Since the beginning of 2023 CDC started HSE Recognition Program to select and recognize best employees who add value to HSE performance, show initiatives and provide good suggestions for improvement. In other words this process is to recognize those employees who does more than minimum requirement as per their job description. For success of the business Company expect employees to Speak up and take a lead on various identified isses. As a result of review by operations management team, chaired by Deputy Director Drilling Services, among the 17 nominations during the 2023, Mr. Bayram Isayev, Deck Foreman was selected for The Best HSE Performance Award for 2023. The reason for this was several great contribution to safety during Zhenis project in Kazakhstan, such as identification of potential dropped objects, overweight of cargo and coaching CDC and Third Party personnel on CDC HSE Management System Requirements, what was recognized by CDC and Client Senior management. 

An almost a year ago Caspian Drilling Company in cooperation with BP and other key players in region made a major Step Change in Red Zone Management. The ultimate goal is to remove people from Red Zone where risk of dropped objects and moving equipment still exist in most of activities. This definitely triggered a change in Safety Culture and attitude of our people. One of the great example is effort made by CDC Roughneck Nusrat Akbarov who done several quality observations in prevention of dropped objects and removing unnecessary people from Red Zone. CDC Recognize efforts of our employees in making our rigs a safer place for work and appreciate it. Particular thanks to Nusrat Akbarov
