🌟 Exciting News from Portfolio! 🌟 We are excited to announce that one of our portfolio companies, BERKM inc, has been awarded a U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I grant to conduct research and development on clay-PET nanocomposite! 🎉 At BERKM, their mission is to combat plastic pollution and reduce food and beverage waste. Their innovative clay-PET-based composite material aims to use up to 20% less plastic per packaging and extend product shelf life by 5X–6X. This prestigious grant not only provides funding but also adds NSF's credibility to BERKM's groundbreaking technology. We are incredibly proud of this significant milestone. Caucasus Ventures Explores Innovation in Europe! 🇪🇺   Last week, we embarked on a journey to two countries boiling with innovation and technology.   🇭🇺In Hungary, we engaged in interesting discussions with MBH Bank, the biggest fintech hub in the country, and MeOut Group  known for their dynamic competitions and impactful incubation initiatives. Our discussions revolved around the potential for fostering stronger cross-border collaborations. Moreover, we discussed promising collaborative investment opportunities with Hiventures and Fiedler Capital, both eagerly seeking to explore ventures spanning diverse geographical landscapes.   🇵🇱Our journey then took us to Poland, where we took part in the Wolves Summit and Azerbaijani Tech Community meeting that was organized by Innovation and Digital Development Agency. A big shoutout to Ayaz Ahmadov, founder of Dosty Petcare, whose recognition at the pitching competition during Wolves Summit shows the potential of exceptional talents within our community!   Moreover, discovering the CD PROJEKT RED office was one of the most remarkable highlights of the trip. Exploring the horizons of the industry, we discussed the development of our local gaming industry and potential collaborations. Additionally, we have conducted meetings with SMOK Ventures for potential co-investment opportunities in our geography.

🇹🇷 📈 Fintech Week for Caucasus Ventures! This week, we had a productive trip to Istanbul, during which we participated in various events and meetings. At Istanbul Fintech Week, we had the opportunity to shed light on the Azerbaijani fintech ecosystem and share opportunities for the scalability of existing solutions. We also held meetings with leading fintech companies and portfolio companies, including Colendi, Papara, Paymes (acquired by PayTabs), and Money Industries, discussing their potential expansion into neighboring geographies and our role in the process. Furthermore, we met with strategic partners, reconnecting with our existing partners like İTÜ Çekirdek and establishing connections with new ones for further collaborations and co-investment opportunities. We had meetings with investment funds, DeBa Ventures and Neo Portföy whose main scope of investment is fintech. They expressed their interest in our region, and we anticipate strengthening our relationship with them through potential investments. Eyes on the horizon for our exciting announcements!

Reflecting on Caucasus Ventures' recent journey to Silicon Valley... This visit started catching up with portfolio companies, focusing on advancing their products and services for broader expansion. Additionally, through strategic partners, we participated in demo days for innovative startups from different industries and backgrounds. Given the pivotal role of AI in the industry, we actively engaged in events to deepen our understanding of this sector. Significant milestone - Caucasus Ventures has partnered with the Berkeley SkyDeck Opportunity Fund. This partnership opens doors to high-quality, relevant investment opportunities, aligning perfectly with our mission to contribute to groundbreaking innovations.
