Approximately 300 castles and fortresses are scattered across Bosnia and Herzegovina. One of them is Buzim Castle, located in northwestern BIH, which was built in the 13th century, It was expanded and fortified over the centuries, especially during the Ottoman period. For the purpose of protection and restoration, we created this 3D photogrammetric model, from which we will further create architectural drawings for restoration. 🏛 Detecting movement that could lead to collapse of buildings. Our team at GeoGIS Ltd. recently undertook a project to assess the stability of floors in a historic building in Sarajevo, dating back to the Austro-Hungarian period, over a century old. As part of the renovation efforts, we conducted geodetic measurements to evaluate the structural integrity of the floors under different loads. Using the Trimble DN 003, we measured the deformation of a benchmark under incremental loads of 300 kg, 600 kg, 900 kg, and 1350 kg per square meter. The results were reassuring, showing minimal movement—less than a millimeter—indicating no significant deformation that could compromise the building's stability. Notably, after unloading the test area, the floor returned to its original height, demonstrating its resilience. This project underscores the importance of precise geodetic measurements in ensuring the safety and preservation of our architectural heritage. #GeoGIS #GeodeticSurvey #StructuralStability #HeritageConservation #Sarajevo

We have successfully conducted a training session for the company Geo-Metar from Podgorica. The training was carried out by the company Markos from Pale and GeoGIS studio d.o.o. from Sarajevo. Marko Savić from Markos led the photogrammetry training, covering all segments of the workflow with drones, from capturing images to generating 3D models and orthophotos. Ibro Balihodžić from GeoGIS led the training on geodetic networks and the use of JAG3D software. #geo_metar #Markos #geogis #geometar #education #surveying #landsurveying #photogrammetry #controlnetwork #Podgorica #Sarajevo

We are extremely proud that we had the opportunity to participate in the realization of another important object of the history and culture of our area. Now we are already entering the period of adulthood and this is already a double-digit number of projects we have worked on, which are national monuments of the highest level in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We worked on the conservation project of the Royal Town of Bobovac, located near Kraljeva Sutjeska in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. We hope that our small contribution will ultimately help in the preservation and future revitalization of this space. 🖐🖐🖐🖐 The Royal City of Bobovac is one of the most important historical sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located on Mount Visocica in the central part of the country. Its history is deeply intertwined with the history of the Bosnian kingdom, making it a key point for understanding medieval Bosnia. Founding and Early History Bobovac was built in the first half of the 14th century, during the reign of Ban Stjepan II Kotromanic. It was first mentioned in 1349. Its location on a steep mountain provided excellent natural protection, making it suitable for a royal residence and administrative center. The city was surrounded by thick walls and had several towers that served as watchtowers. Period of Prosperity During the reign of Tvrtko I Kotromanic (1353–1391), Bobovac became the main royal city and the key political, administrative, and military center of the Bosnian kingdom. Tvrtko I was crowned King of Bosnia in 1377, and during his reign, Bosnia reached its greatest territorial extent and political influence. At that time, Bobovac was the seat of the royal family, where important political decisions were made, and the royal insignia were kept. Architectural Characteristics Bobovac had a complex system of fortifications, including the royal palace, churches, noble residences, and military structures. One of the most important buildings was the King's Church, where some of the Bosnian kings were buried. The city also had a sophisticated system for collecting and distributing water, which was vital for survival during sieges. The Fall of Bobovac Bobovac fell into Ottoman hands in 1463, marking the end of the Bosnian kingdom. Sultan Mehmed II the Conqueror took the city after a short siege. King Stjepan Tomasevic had previously fled the city but was later captured and executed. The fall of Bobovac had great symbolic significance as it represented the fall of Bosnian independence and the beginning of Ottoman domination in this part of the Balkans. Post-Ottoman Period After the conquest, Bobovac lost its strategic and political significance. The Ottomans used the city for a time as a military stronghold, but it was soon abandoned and left to decay. Over time, most of the structures were destroyed or fell into ruin, leaving only remnants that testify to its former glory.

3D scanning of this magnificent place. 😍 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mostar is a historic city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located on the Neretva River and known for its iconic bridge, the Stari Most. The city’s name, derived from the term "mostari" (bridge keepers), reflects its long-standing significance as a crossing point. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Early History Mostar's origins date back to the 15th century during the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans developed Mostar as a key administrative and commercial center. The Stari Most, built in 1566 by the renowned Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan's student, Mimar Hayruddin, became the city's defining landmark. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Austro-Hungarian Period Following centuries of Ottoman rule, Mostar came under Austro-Hungarian control in 1878. This period introduced European architectural styles and further modernization, blending with the city's existing Ottoman influences. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20th Century and Beyond Mostar's diverse cultural heritage reflects its varied history, but the city faced significant turmoil during the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990s. The Stari Most was destroyed in 1993 but was meticulously reconstructed and reopened in 2004, symbolizing reconciliation and the city's enduring spirit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cultural Significance Today, Mostar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its blend of Ottoman, Mediterranean, and Western European architectural styles. The restored Stari Most stands as a powerful emblem of peace and cooperation, attracting visitors from around the world. Mostar’s rich history and cultural heritage make it a vital part of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s identity and a testament to the resilience of its people. #Surveying #3DLaserScanning #Photogrammetry #Mostar #Bosnia #HistoricPreservation #3DModeling #InnovationInEngineering #geogis #Pocitelj #Bosnia

We have created accurate drawings depicting the current condition of the facades of the Roof Gardens building in Sarajevo. These drawings have served as the foundation for developing the facade project and facilitating the mechanical production of the metal and glass elements comprising the facade.
