This is my favorite electronic album, period.
It's a vastly underappreciated gem of synth masterwork, and a decided departure from his earlier electro-pop.
By the the time opening head-bobber, Sequel, and the eclectic "Another Dollar" wrap up, the album transforms into something else entirely: a slow, somber introspection in darkness. Warm synth buzzes, immaculate clicks and undulating crescendos keep the journey from despairing, though, and inject bittersweet glimmers of optimism.
