BCL works in home and abroad. It's international activities were inaugurated in 1991 and since then, steadily expanded and extended to the South, South-East, Central-Asia and South Africa.

Contract Signing of Consulting Services for Updating Design and Safeguard Documents for Sylhet- Charkhai- Sheola Highway Improvement Project We are very much pleased to announce that the agreement has been signed between Roads and Highways Department, Bangladesh (the Client) and BCL Associates Limited (the Consultant) on 2nd May 2024 for the Consulting Services for Updating Design and Safeguard Documents for Sylhet- Charkhai- Sheola Highway Improvement Project. (Package No. SP- 4) The World Bank is the development Partner of this Project. The Sylhet- Charkhai- Sheola Highway Road is an important part of Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar (BCIM) Corridor and South Asia Sub Regional Economic Corridor (SASEC). The BCIM envisages greater market access for goods- services- and energy, elimination of non- tarrif barriers, better trade facilitation, investment in infrastructure development, and joint exploration and development of mineral- water and other natural resources. This component of the project aims at upgrading 43km two- lane Sylhet- Charkhai- Sheola Road to a climate resilient four- lane Road. Major components of the Consultancy services are, a) Updating the existing Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and Land Acquisition Plan (LAP) according to the Guideline of the Project Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) b) Updating the existing Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) according to the Guideline of World Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) c) Updating the existing Geometric Design, BoQ and relevant Technical Specification for Civil Works for Sylhet- Charkhai- Sheola Highway Improvement Project. Duration of the Consultancy Services will be Five months. We are grateful to our Client RHD for their confidence, trust and continued support to BCL Associates Limited in serving them and the country for building major infrastructures.

Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries (FCIC) Riyadh, KSA Mr M A Aziz, our Managing Director attended the 39th General Assembly Meeting of the Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries (FCIC). The event took place alongside the 50th Anniversary Annual General Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group being held in Riyadh, KSA from 27 April, 2024. Mr Aziz is the Vice President (Region 6) of FCIC. He also attended the 6th executive committee meeting of the FCIC where capacity building initiatives among the consultants from OIC was discussed. Both FCIC and IsDB has appreciated the training on Occupational Health & Safety conducted by BCL on February, 2024 with cooperation from FCIC. BCL, as its policy of capacity development, conducts such trainings as a regular activity and has become a pioneer in this country in that regard. #BCLAssociatesLtd

We regretfully inform that Ms Mousumi Farhana Kabir, Front Desk Officer has sadly passed away to her eternal journey last night (19 March 2024) at about 12.30 A.M. She was suffering from gastrointestinal diseases and was admitted to a local hospital three days ago. She had been a loyal employee of BCL since Feb 2012 to date. We pray to almighty Allah for her departed soul to rest in peace. May Allah bestow peace on her family and strength and fortitude ot bear the irreparable loss. Training Program on FIDIC Contract Management On March 4th, 2024, BCL successfully conducted a training program as part of its ongoing commitment to professional development. The event took place at CenTR, located on the 2nd Floor of Advance Noorani Tower, 01 Mohakhali, Bir Uttam AK Khandaker Sarak, Dhaka – the BCL Head office. The program attracted senior and mid-level professionals who actively participated in the enriching session. The training session was skillfully facilitated by Mr. Kasule Robert, Contract Management Specialist, Cross Border Road Network Improvement Project (CBRNIP) under RHD funded by JICA, with valuable assistance provided by Mr. Brian Nuwamakya. Commencing the program, Mr. Salimuzzaman Sikder, Deputy Team Leader of the Cross Border Project, extended a warm welcome, introduced the facilitator, and invited Mr. M A Aziz, the Managing Director, to officially inaugurate the program. The program primarily focused on FIDIC contracts, encompassing various forms such as the Red, Yellow, Silver, White and Green books. Topics covered included field management applications, contractual obligations, and practical problem-solving methods. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, discussions, and practical exercises, guided by Mr. Robert's expertise, to deepen their understanding of FIDIC standards and their application in project management. The seminar served as a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and skill enhancement, setting a strong foundation for the engineers to excel in their roles within the construction industry. The successful completion of the in-house FIDIC training program reflects BCL Associates Ltd's dedication to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth among its employees. The event not only equipped the engineers with valuable insights and skills but also showcased the organization's commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of construction. BCL Associates Limited organised a three-day training on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) at work places for the first time in Bangladesh by any consultancy firm. I am fortunate to be a part of this team. This training is a part of Bcl’s commitment to CPD. I would like to express my gratitude towards BCL Associates Limited and our Managing Director Md Abdul Aziz for his initiatives and continuous encouragement towards our knowledge and capacity development. This training session is organized in collaboration with the Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries (FCIC). A total of twenty seven (27) Trainees from RHD, other construction firms and BCL professionals have participated in the class room and field based course expanding over 3 days. The first two days’ training was conducted in class room at BCL Head Office at 1, Bir Uttam A K Khandakar Sarak, Mohakhali Avenue and one day’s field training conducted on site of Dhaka elevated expressway project. The sessions kicked off at 9 am on February 12, 2024 by the representative of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), FCIC and Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB). Trainees from other Consultancy and member firms of FCIC attended the sessions. The main resource person for this training was Engineer Beker Dalay from Turkey. As a part of BCL’s policy and effort on Continuous Professional Development, this Training is arranged at BCL’s cost to impart knowledge on international Health & Safety standards that will prove to be imperative for all personnel involved in implementation of infrastructure projects to ensure a safer work site environment for all its staff. #BCLAssociatesLimited
