𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲́𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘂𝗿 : 𝗻𝗼𝗻 𝗮̀ 𝗹𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗹'𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗲́𝗱𝗲́𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗲 ! ⛔  Chez UCM, nous croyons fermement à la force du collectif, surtout lorsqu'il s'agit de défendre des enjeux capitaux pour nos entreprises.   C'est dans cet esprit que, aux côtés de VBO FEB, UNIZO, AKT for Wallonia et BECI, nous avons pris position contre une mesure envisagée au niveau fédéral : supprimer l'Agence pour le commerce extérieur. ❌   ✅ Cette agence joue un rôle essentiel dans le soutien à nos entreprises sur les marchés internationaux, facilitant l'accès à de nouvelles opportunités commerciales et aidant à établir des contacts précieux à l'échelle mondiale.   Sa suppression, proposée dans le cadre des négociations gouvernementales actuelles, nous semble contre-productive. Les missions de l'Agence permettent à nos entreprises de s'étendre bien au-delà de nos frontières, un avantage dont nous avons plus que jamais besoin !   🔝 Nous plaidons pour que l'Agence soit non seulement préservée mais également renforcée. De plus, la présence de membres de la famille royale lors de missions à l'étranger ajoute une valeur inestimable, en favorisant une visibilité et des contacts de haut niveau.   Nous restons engagés à travailler avec les décideurs pour trouver des solutions qui soutiennent la croissance et la compétitivité de toutes les entreprises belges, petites et grandes. #belgique #wallonie #commerce #international

Net als veel ondernemers kijk ik met aandacht naar de federale onderhandelingen – en naar de zuurstof die er aankomt voor onze economie. Maar wat een rare kronkel om het opheffen van Belgian Foreign Trade Agency (BFTA) op de onderhandelingstafel te zien liggen. Ik ben geen royalist, maar dat hoeft ook niet om gewoon objectief de meerwaarde van een economische missie of Prinselijke Handelsmissie te zien. In de zomer van 2018 waren we bij EnergyVision al twee jaar aan het onderhandelen met Silver Food om voor hen het grootste zonnepark van Casablanca te bouwen. Pas toen we konden zeggen dat Prinses Astrid het park enkele maanden later zou komen inhuldigen als we nu snel konden tekenen, ging de deal door. In november 2019 konden enkele leveranciers met Prinses Astrid op de foto tijdens de receptie in Beijing (zie pre-corona foto hieronder). Voor die leveranciers was dat bijna van een andere wereld, quasi ondenkbaar, plots bekeken ze EnergyVision als klant helemaal anders. Het resultaat? We kregen een onmiddellijke korting van 800.000 EUR op het jaarvolume dat we bestelden (onze jaarwinst was toen 2 miljoen EUR, dus die korting was gi-gan-tisch voor ons). Was die handelsmissie er niet geweest, de korting hadden we niet gehad. Heel simpel. Met Kris Peeters, Geert Bourgeois, Jan Jambon en anderen gingen onze klanten of leveranciers ook wel eens op een foto, maar de impact was toch een ietsie pietsie kleiner :)   Je kunt voor of tegen België zijn, voor of tegen het koningshuis, voor meer of minder regionalisering, maar de deuren die opengaan tijdens zo’n handelsmissie van Belgian Foreign Trade Agency (BFTA) – vroeger toen EnergyVision klein was, maar nu nog altijd – dat is ongeëvenaard. Senior Belgian Ministers will accompany the Princess. The 400-strong Belgian delegation includes 300 leading businessmen, 23 academic representatives as well as high ranking officials of the country. The delegation will visit São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Official meetings with the Governors of both States are on the agenda. Sustainable agriculture, industrial bioeconomy, port development, sustainable trade in food and drinks, energy transition, climate and health are the main focuses of the mission. It is expected that major business agreements and MoU will be signed during the mission or result from it. #BELFRA2024 🇧🇪 🇫🇷 - During the official State Visit to France, an activity focused on defence cooperation, including personnel exchanges, joint training exercises, collaborative procurement, and the development of collective projects within the EU and NATO frameworks, will be organised. In light of this, the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency (BFTA) has decided to release the paper of the sectoral publication ‘𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲’ early. The paper of ‘Belgian Defence’, realised in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belgium, Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT), the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX) and hub.brussels, explores the increasing military expenditure on a global scale and Belgium’s strategic military significance in Europe, emphasizing its proximity to major defence suppliers like France, Germany, and the UK. It highlights Belgium’s dual-use infrastructure, which supports both civilian and military needs, and its role as a logistical hub for NATO and EU operations. The STAR Plan is central to modernizing the country's military, focusing on cybersecurity, AI, and enhanced interoperability, especially through partnerships like the 𝗖𝗮𝗠𝗼 initiative with France (BELFRA activity). 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗱 – The full sectoral publication will be officially released early 2025, following its traditional format.
