Why Diversity in Leadership Matters: A Fairer AI Starts at the Top ✨ The MAKE IT FAIR campaign is about building AI that serves everyone—and that starts with diverse leadership. Women remain severely underrepresented in AI, holding just 8% of CEO positions and 9% of technical roles in high-tech sectors (UNESCO, 2024). This isn’t just an issue of fairness—it’s about innovation and impact. Research consistently shows that gender-diverse teams drive better solutions, reducing bias and ensuring AI reflects the needs of all communities. If AI is to add $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030, as projected, it must be built by diverse voices, for diverse societies. Women in AI is committed to bridging this gap. Drawing from UNESCO’s Fostering Women’s Leadership report, we explore how women’s leadership is key to shaping ethical, inclusive, and innovative AI. 📖 Read more in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/e8DnRZph Let’s continue the movement beyond International Women’s Day—because fairness in AI isn’t a one-day issue. It’s time to break barriers and lead the change. 💡💙 #WomenInAI #DiversityInTech #AIforGood #LeadershipMatters #MAKEITFAIR #ForAllWomenAndGirls

🌟 Weekly Scientist Spotlight Series! 🌟 Cases where use of AI misclassified people, incorrectly acted, or were actively harmful are well known. Some of these problems arise from bias in datasets, in how solutions are formulated, who tests them, lack of a clear set of protective policies, and lack of fairness in outcomes for groups of people. Today we feature researchers who work on bias and fairness 📊 Meet this week’s featured researchers: 🔹 Naba Rizvi, UC San Diego, works on inclusion of marginalised communities in AI. 🌍✨ MAKE IT FAIR: A Call for Equality in AI ✨🌍 As AI continues to shape the world we live in, it’s crucial that these technologies are developed with inclusivity in mind. MAKE IT FAIR stands for creating AI systems that work for everyone, regardless of gender, race, or background. At AEQUITAS and Women in AI, we believe AI has the potential to bring positive change, but only if we ensure that fairness and equality are at the core of its design. It’s time to address bias, promote diversity, and empower underrepresented voices in AI. This March, the month when we celebrate International Women’s Day, we invite all organisations, businesses, and individuals to join the movement and commit to MAKE IT FAIR for ALL. HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY! Together, let’s shape an AI-driven future that’s just, inclusive, and fair for everyone. 💡💻 #FairAI #GenderEquality #WomenInAI #EthicalAI #AIForGood #BiasInAI #ForAllWomenAndGirls #MakeItFair #InternationalWomenDay #IWD2025
