After receiving a flood of applications from Tech startups in Belgium and AgeTech startups from across Europe, we’ve invited a select group to pitch in front of our jury. Today marks the final day of a week full of these exciting pitches, hosted in the incredible Brain Embassy Antwerp building. From this talented pool, we’ll be selecting the startups that will form our upcoming cohort. As managing partner at Birdhouse Ventures I’m often asked about the key drivers behind early-stage investment decisions. As we look back on the successful startups that have passed through our program in recent years, it’s clear how much impact the right support, network, and mentorship can have on early-stage companies. We’ve seen some incredible journeys unfold, and it’s been a privilege to watch these startups grow, scale, and leave their mark on the industry. End of last year we enrolled in the Birdhouse accelerator program. It was a mix of intensive work and fun. We met a bunch of like-minded start-ups and a high number of advisors with extremely relevant experience. The program has pushed us to get to market faster, to sharpen our value proposition, to drastically improve our pitch and to review our financing strategy. We've remained in close contact with Birdhouse and several of their advisors. If all goes well, we'll be able to share exciting news resulting from this collaboration in the coming month. SOMAREALITY, an Austrian-based startup, is breaking new ground in digital neuropsychology with their cutting-edge eye-tracking technology. Starting a company can feel like climbing a mountain amidst a storm. Even when you have some traction in product-market fit & a solid story, you could always have another opinion that can drive you forward. Steadiwear Inc. joined Birdhouse to better understand the European market. Through the program, we learned how to better frame our financials and pitch and a lot of EU-related reimbursement strategies.
