This week we joined National Security Space Association (NSSA) for International Space Security Week convening leading figures from both government and industry on strengthening global space security. Our Group CSRO and CEO of North America Tina Ghataore joined David Machuga of CEO Millennium Space Systems, A Boeing Company and Brian OToole, CEO of BlackSky for a panel discussion on how commercial companies can enhance capabilities. As future space capabilities need to be "allied by design" the conversation explored how to open doors for commercial and international companies to partner.

✨#DYK: Geospatial intelligence contributes to better understanding and fighting #climatechange. Aerospacelab and AMOS play pivotal roles in the Copernicus Earth Observation programme, which provides information to improve environmental management and monitor effects of climate change. 🚀 Aerospacelab launched a multiSPectral Imagery Prototype (SPIP) mission in 2023, set to enhance Copernicus services with critical data. 🌎 AMOS played a pivotal role in 40+ space missions, including 7 Sentinel missions, thanks to innovations like freeform optical designs and high-precision components. #DYK: Our oceans are becoming warmer. The top 100 meters of ocean is 0.67 degrees Fahrenheit (0.33 degrees Celsius) warmer since 1969. Earth stores 90% of the extra energy in the ocean. 🌊 #Satellites 🛰 provide important information to NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration by "seeing the sea" in ways that are otherwise impossible, from sea surface temperature, sea levels, mapping and weather. Read how satellites are used to monitor our oceans here: https://lnkd.in/e_b7cZWS. This week, as part of World Space Week, we are sharing important information about #space technology and climate change. Meet the stars of Aerospacelab! 🌠 Alex Hill joined Aerospacelab as our AIT engineer in Torrance, California. We are pioneering the future of #space manufacturing by bringing disruptive innovation at scale. Alex joins our team with a unique background in manufacturing and prototyping to help us get there. Tell us about your career journey: I've worked in the aerospace industry for 8 years and recently joined the team from Northrop Grumman. I've worked on everything from design manufacturing to 3D printing and managed the makerspace. Prior to that I had experience in consumer products doing rapid prototyping and design iteration. So you can say I've gotten experience in the full assembly line. Why did you join Aerospacelab? There is a really exciting opportunity here to build on something together from the ground floor. And there's the ability to physically work with hardware that doesn't often happen at larger companies. We get to get our roll up our sleeves, and get really involved. We are creating a culture where we are all committed to working together as a team to deliver our satellites to our customers and focused on driving it to completion. What excites you about our work? I call it the next space race or the second space race, right? We're in an opportunity where the cost to get to space has become so much lower with space start-ups that the cost to launch is lower. Space is more accessible now than it was 100 year, 60 years ago certainly. It's exciting to be at the forefront of that movement where we're all pushing toward the future, trying to understand the possibilities and part of company committed to making it accessible through so many innovative solutions. Please welcome Alex to the Aerospacelab team! Interested in joining our team? Learn more about what drives us and check out open roles. https://lnkd.in/dJ-PkKHS
