It's the World Mental Health Day today 🌍 And no, this post is not to promote extra snacks for our team members (sorry guys) 👉 Instead, we want to talk about an elephant in the room: The industry's role on the society and inhabitants' well-being. Do you know: ◾ Poor-quality housing appears to increase psychological distress (1) ◾ Air pollutants heighten aggression and and self-regulation ability ◾ While well-designed environments that provide safety, comfort, and aesthetic qualities can have positive effects on mental well-being (2) A not-so-fun fact: 40% of the global carbon dioxide emissions come from the real estate sector. (3) Urban planners, policy makers, architects, developers, investors, and constructors, we all need to be aware of our social impacts, and fight to do better.
