We are pleased to announce the development of EN 18007, a new European standard providing guidelines for the safe and effective use of electromagnetic pulse welding! ⚡📑 This important achievement was led by the Belgian Welding Institute, under leadership of Koen Faes. 🚴♂️ Waarom is fietsatelier Jaegher in Gent de lieveling van Tom Boonen en Tim Merlier? #Sabato zoekt het uit! 👀 Fietsenmakers Christophe Ghewy, Kurt Stallaert en Emanuel Ramoudtop opende op 12 september hun gloednieuw atelier in Gentbrugge. 'Tot nog toe zat Jaegher verspreid over drie locaties, vanaf nu zullen de showroom, het lasatelier en de voorraad onder hetzelfde dak zitten op de Arsenaalsite in Gent. Precies op de plek waar in 1919 de derde Ronde van Vlaanderen aankwam, toen hier nog een velodroom stond.’ ‘In 2012 begon Jaegher als een jongensdroom en hobbyproject. Nooit hadden we durven te dromen dat we zo’n atelier zouden hebben. Dear welding & AM friends and colleagues, For the last 3 years, we have been working hard on an innovative project to understand and overcome the challenges of welding metallic components produced by additive manufacturing techniques. During this year's International Institute of Welding Annual Meeting in Greece, we had the opportunity to present our final results on the weldability of additively manufactured aluminium alloys, which we are pleased to say generated a lot of interest and new contacts. Although the full article has not yet been published, we would like to invite the whole community to the final meeting of the project. The meeting will be held online on 13 September from 09h30 to 11h30 (CET). At this meeting the main results on carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys and aluminium alloys will be presented together with real case studies / demonstrators focusing on real applications. If you are interested in this topic, this is your one and only chance to learn about the latest trends in the weldability of AM-ed materials. The COAMWELD project, funded by VLAIO - Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship under grant number HBC.2020.2994, has been carried out in partnership with VIVES University of Applied Sciences, GSI MbH Niederlassung SLV München, GSI MbH SLV Berlin, and TUM Chair of Materials Engineering of Additive Manufacturing.
