[ Belgian Timber Construction Awards ] Hout Info Bois organized the second edition of this Belgian architecture competition for projects completed in the past four years. The aim is to highlight #wood as an organic and #renewable building material. Additionally, it raises awareness about the construction sector’s contribution to CO2 emissions. The conversion of the Brunfaut residential tower won the 1st prize in the category multi residential project. This exceptional project marks the beginning of a series of landmark #tower #renovations in the Brussels-Capital Region.  Ney & Partners / Ney & Partners WOW were the structural engineers in a team with architects Atelier 229 and Daniel Dethier Architectes. Ney & Partners WOW focused on the engineering study of the timber slabs and the execution mission of the timber-frame facade. 🥇 https://lnkd.in/eaur9_rP In the category of non-residential buildings, two #school buildings were awarded 2nd and 3rd prize. As part of the redesign of the eastern Brussels Ring Road, a new wooden bridge is being constructed over the Vier Armen junction to provide a direct connection for cyclists and pedestrians.    💡 The main structural construction material of the bridge is glued Kerto LVL Q-panels. 📏 The new wooden bridge spans 67.5 meters ☔ The bridge's geometry is designed to protect against rainfall  📍 You can find the bridge by Ney & Partners / Ney & Partners WOW from Vier Armen, 3080 Tervuren, Belgium   Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dKifGr_H

🔜 13ème édition de nos "Midi du bois" - RDV à Bruxelles le 7 novembre ! 🌳🏗️ Ligne Bois vous invite à découvrir, lors d'une matinée de visites, deux projets bois en cours de chantier : 🔹 #Blanche #Housing : 13 logements en structure bois, sur 7 niveaux, avec une ossature en CLT, un noyau en béton et des façades en caissons isolés préfabriqués. Ce projet, conçu par Urban Platform et réalisé par Sabem SA, met en avant la modularité, la démontabilité et le recyclage, alignés sur des objectifs zéro carbone. Le bureau Ney & Partners WOW s’est occupé des études de stabilité. 🔹 #Learning #Center de l'UCLouvain - Université catholique de Louvain : rénovation et surélévation d’un immeuble des années 1960. Grâce aux caissons préfabriqués en bois isolés, le projet permet d'ajouter un niveau tout en respectant les contraintes de poids et les objectifs énergétiques. Sabem SA est en charge de la préfabrication et de la pose des façades, et le bureau Cambium (Sacha Berg) a réalisé les études de stabilité des parties bois.
