Yesterday, Care4everyBody had the opportunity to attend the event 'The State of Women's Health: Where do we stand in the EU?'. In it, Samira Rafaela presented her manifesto to Equality Commissioner Helena Dalli. The manifesto, “Let’s talk about our bodies”, advocates for urgent action at EU level: 🔬 Closing the gap in women’s health research and innovation 🏥 Promoting a healthcare workforce that represents everyone 🚺 Securing the right to bodily autonomy 🌐 Placing women's health high on the political agenda Women’s health should be a priority on the EU agenda. All the panelists, among who were experts, policymakers, private partners and leading NGOs, agreed. Moreover, lower quality of healthcare for the greater half of the population has a major economic impact on the EU’s internal market, workforce, pensions and social security systems. Thank you Samira Rafaela, Florence Raes and the excellent speakers Emma Lok, Ffion Storer Jones, Peggy Maguire, Ben Light and Milka Sokolović for the organisation and for raising awareness on this important issue and calling for urgent action. Care4everyBody addresses these issues through research and uses the expertise of our network of medical experts to create concrete solutions. Want to know more about us? #health #medicine #economy #socialsecurity #economicdevelopment #genderequality #gendergap #womenempowerment #europeanunion #teaching #education #awareness #advocacy

Back @Eu_Commmission 4 policy & being a voice for new culture of feminine leadership in political arena | Ready to unlock peak performance for purposeful careers? | Co-president @Volt Slovakia
Hey people. “There are Directorates General for every possible male toy we can imagine. It's time to start focusing on #womenhealth. Start voting for this as a single agenda that matters.” Hey woman. Are you still ok with the fact that your doctor treats your body as if it was male? If not, why is there NO pressure for governments to stop wasting billions on useless treatments and killing women by inappropriate research and treatment? It’s 6m before European Parliament elections. Gender equal European Commission makes no difference if it operates in the same old misogyny-driven world, including in politics, healthcare, investment, research. That’s what my intervention was about at this week's amazing conference on introducing a #gender lens into #healthcare policy and practice. Ready to take it up if Brussels masters want me to. In my previous post about this I promised to share a couple of the mindblowing quotes from my notes, so here they are. Thanks to the amazing team Care4everyBody and Sophie in 't Veld for having me! 📛 “Women are gaslighted. Misdiagnosed. Told they are hysterical. That they should go for yoga and take a universal pill. All of it because medical research, education and practice have been treating them as men.” Mirjam Kaijer 📛 “Nobody’s holding researchers in Europe accountable to include gender-balanced samples before investment is made. It's about the whole cycle of clinical research, gatekeepers at research journals, health education, practice by healthcare providers, and oversight that could nudge new research but they don’t.” Alyson J. McGregor 📛 “Unless politicians start caring about women's health. Thinking of it outside of their reproductive silos. Seeing it's about supporting the whole society. And as a bonus (that’s their primary focus anyway): it injects billions back into the economy - through public health savings, higher productivity and longevity. Eliminating the economic and societal impact of women’s health inequalities would result in direct and indirect savings sufficient to finance Green Deal in a single year.” Read it again all of you looking for funding for ecotransition. Colum Joyce 📛 “The worst is that we moved from taboo and no info to misinfo and disinfo. Because we are looked at as consumers (brainfog? here's a vitamin. fatigued? go2yoga). We need to INVEST in research of female health. We need ACCESS to world-class solutions (like brain research in Australia, heart research in the US or pelvic floor recovery as in France).” Anca Griffiths “Women's health must be declared as a priority. The status quo is the greatest moral and political failure across the EU. It's ridiculous that your state of health in Europe depends on your nationality. It's ridiculous that women die within the EU because they don't have access to safe abortion.” #womensrightsarehumanrights #careercoach #femaleleadership #futuremadeineurope
