Instead of piling up in landfills, waste can become a valuable resource, and CBE JU-funded projects are making it happen! 🐛 RECOVER: Using worms and insects to break down plastic waste and turn it into bio-based materials. 🧪 BIZENTE: Cutting non-biodegradable polymer waste by at least 40% with enzymatic biodegradation technology for thermoset composites. 🌿 CAPFILA: Turning organic waste into bio-based building blocks, creating sustainable raw materials for the bioeconomy. 🏙️ URBIOFIN: Proving that urban waste isn’t just trash, it’s a resource! 🌿 Optimising microalgae growth with MULTI-STR3AM As the demand for sustainable solutions in food, feed, and materials continues to rise, microalgae are emerging as a key bioeconomy player. The MULTI-STR3AM project is helping unlock this potential through targeted research and innovation. The project's latest study focuses on photosynthetic activity in raceway ponds - a critical factor in large-scale microalgae cultivation. The goal? ✔️ Higher efficiency ✔️ Consistent biomass quality ✔️ Scalable systems for industrial application Backed by a multidisciplinary consortium, MULTI-STR3AM is bridging the gap between science and real-world impact in the algae-based bioeconomy.
