This week in Madrid, representing CECRA at the The European Networking Group 17th Annual Vehicle Remarketing Summit. Well organised event with very interesting topics and insights. Excellent networking opportunity during two full days and a very nice dinner presented by CarGarantie. Thanks to my panel colleagues Ian Banks , Martin Wilson and John D. Possumato for a very open and relevant discussion about data transparency in vehicles especially the one generated by Ev’s. Great brainstorming during the interactive roundtables in particular the impact of geopolitical risk in remarketing strategies was certainly a challenging one! Thanks for the invitation The European Networking Group , hope to see you soon!

  • On January 17, CECRA had the pleasure sharing its position with Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, to the High-level Meeting on Technological and Digital Innovation under Strategic Dialogue on the Future of Automotive Industry. We welcome the finalization of the Data Act, which brings much-needed clarity to data management and reinforces user control. However, key questions remain unanswered regarding what data can be shared, when, and how. To drive innovation, sector-specific legislation is essential to provide clear guidance on these aspects. Such regulation will not only foster technological advancements but also ensure fair competition, preventing the emergence of gatekeepers. In the automotive sector, unlocking the full potential of in-vehicle data requires a structured and competition-compliant approach. While we acknowledge the importance of regulatory simplification, this must not come at the expense of essential legislation that safeguards a level playing field and a competitive environment.

🚗 Joint Statement on the European Commission's Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the #Automotive Sector CECRA welcomes the launch of this important initiative. However, the challenges facing the sector go far beyond the limited scope of the first Dialogue. The automotive retail chain—from the first sale to the final scrappage of a vehicle—plays a crucial role in driving digitalisation and sustainability across the EU. It strengthens Europe's economic and industrial backbone while addressing pressing challenges in the sector. To fully unlock this potential, the entire aftermarket must be included in the discussion. We call on the European Commission to ensure that all stakeholders—from manufacturers and dealers to recyclers and end-users—are involved in shaping the future of the industry. Only by taking a comprehensive, holistic approach can we drive innovation, sustainability, and economic resilience in Europe's automotive sector. We urge the European Commission to ensure that all key players are included in the next steps of this process. #CECRA #AutomotiveIndustry #Sustainability #Innovation

It's a pleasure to be invited by #FIGIEFA’s convention. Interesting discussions on the future trends affecting the automotive aftermarket, and as mentioned by FIGIEFA "the independent automotive aftermarket being the driving force for Europe's competitive, sustainable and affordable mobility". #FIGIEFA is one of the members of the AFCAR alliance advocating for the freedom of car repair in the EU
