Workers buyouts can be an opportunity to create sustainable, democratically controlled enterprises, however specific know-how and a supportive environment are essential to their success. Last September, during the annual Mutual Learning Session, CICOPA members from around the world shared best practices and explored the challenges and opportunities around the growing phenomena of business transfer to employees in a cooperative form, also known as workers buyouts, in the context of their respective countries. 😎 There was a lot to learn from today CICOPA Mutual Learning Session on the topic of business transfers to employees under the cooperative form, i.e., workers buyouts (WBOs)! Pierre Charette, RESEAUCOOP from Quebec, Canada, denis cagnin Legacoop Veneto, Italy; Aurélien HIRAUX, Les scop et, France, Cristian Horton, Fecootra, Argentina presented the experiences of their federations to our network.
