Plastic in Aluminium packaging - risking explosions? 🔥 While plastic is versatile as a packaging material, it poses serious risks when combined with Aluminium at reprocessing! Reprocessing is a key step where sorted material from a sorting facility is taken for reprocessing. Typically, Aluminium is reprocessed in a rotary furnace. Here, the aluminium melts at approximately 650 degrees celsius. In this process, plastic is considered as a contaminant and also melts. The dangers include:  💥 Increased explosion risks due to the flammability of plastics 👥 Health hazards for facility workers from toxins released into the atmosphere 🌱 Environmental damage due to explosion risk and toxins release For these reasons, it is important to reduce plastic usage in Aluminium packaging! #aluminiumpackaging #plasticsinaluminium #recycling

🔄 Update: Advancing Paper Packaging Recyclability Assessment! 📦 Cepi has enhanced its laboratory test method for paper packaging recyclability, aligned with the 4evergreen alliance! This is the 3rd version published. 🔬 Key Update: A new assessment step has been added to assess filtrate evaporation residue, focusing on dissolved and colloidal substances. This helps identify micro-particles like minerals which are considered not recyclable in the recycling process.
