🌍 Citymesh proudly supported YOUCA Action Day! Yesterday, on October 17th, we had the pleasure of welcoming Fariza, a 17-year-old student from Saint Joseph College in Wervik, to our Finance team for YOUCA vzw Action Day. At Citymesh, we strongly believe that empowering young people and fostering social responsibility are key to shaping a better future. Initiatives like this give students hands-on experience while contributing to a meaningful cause. Fariza supported JSBM, a youth organization in Burundi working towards a sustainable and just society, by earning a salary of 60 euros. We are thrilled to share that she enjoyed the experience so much that she will be joining us as a student worker during the fall and Christmas break. A big thank you to our colleagues Mathieu Verhaeghe and Dagmara Ajdamova for guiding and supporting Fariza throughout the day! These actions reflect the values we stand for: innovation, responsibility, and making a positive impact. In this project, Citymesh tackled key challenges to optimise the management of (private) 5G mobile networks. Discover a few highlights from his presentation below 👇 🔹 Intelligent neutral hosting: A game-changer for network operators, this concept reduces costs by sharing infrastructure and operations enabled by Open RAN capabilities. 🔹 AI-driven network optimization: As mobile networks grow more complex, AI-powered algorithms are key to managing resources and services autonomously. With self-configuration, self-diagnosis, and self-optimization techniques, these networks ensure ultra-reliable, low-latency communications. 🔹 Collaborative innovation: Experts from both academia and industry showcased cutting-edge solutions for 5G network management and optimisation, including live demos and evaluations based on real-life test-beds. 𝗞𝘂𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆𝗺𝗲𝘀𝗵: 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲! In collaboration with Citymesh, the municipality of Gemeentebestuur Kuurne has taken a major step in enhancing emergency services. Thanks to the innovative "drone-in-a-box" solution, Hulpverleningszone Fluvia can now respond to emergency calls faster than ever, making the critical first minutes of fire incidents safer and more efficient. This permanent drone installation on the Kuurne fire station can launch within 90 seconds of an emergency call, providing real-time aerial footage to firefighters and police. Controlled remotely via the 5G network, this technology gives first responders a comprehensive view of the situation, enabling quicker and more precise action. "This is a groundbreaking development for our region," says Hans Similon, head of Citymesh Drone Solutions. "Through this collaboration, we can save lives and better protect property."
