🚛 The future of urban logistics is electric! Our new analysis with Transport & Environment (T&E) reveals that by 2030, all of Europe’s capitals could implement zero-emission freight zones. With 3.9 million e-vans projected to be sold between 2025 and 2030, cities will have ample supply to transition to cleaner logistics. This transition to electric vans is crucial for reducing urban emissions and improving air quality in our cities. Explore how e-vans will transform urban logistics ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ejAhHKgp

🚚 Our new analysis with Transport & Environment (T&E) shows that by 2030, European capitals could eliminate large petrol and diesel van fleets. By 2026, more electric van models will be available than diesel and petrol, and by 2027, e-vans will also be cheaper. This presents a significant opportunity for cities to create zero-emission freight zones, leading to cleaner air and improved urban environments. The rise of e-vans is crucial for decarbonising city centres and tackling air pollution. Read the analysis ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ejAhHKgp

How can we reduce congestion in #Warsaw? Increase the attractiveness of public transport by freeing buses from traffic jams and speeding up journeys. 🚌 🚎 Bus lanes save time, money and emissions. During rush hours, buses on the Łazienkowska Route can transport up to 10,000 passengers per hour (4x more than cars!). Read more and see the interview with the Head of our Poland campaign, Nina 👇

We welcome the EU's new, tighter air pollution limits, which are a vital step toward saving lives and improving public health across Europe. While these limits aren't fully aligned with World Health Organization guidelines, they represent crucial progress in addressing air quality. What’s next❓To meet these new standards and further reduce pollution, cities across Europe need to step up action, especially by accelerating the implementation of low- and zero-emission zones. The good news❓The first wave of zero-emission zones is just around the corner! 🚗⚡ In the coming months, 18 Dutch cities and Stockholm will be leading the way with ambitious plans to gradually switch to emission-free urban logistics. We hope that more cities will follow suit 🙏 https://lnkd.in/eN7Htd-B Transport & Environment (T&E) ClientEarth European Environmental Bureau Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL)

Over 40 businesses have signed Clean Cities’ open letter calling for Mayor Khan to extend London’s congestion charge exemption for electric vehicles past 2025. Signatories of the letter include the AA, Ocado, BT Openreach, Lime and a collection of London’s small businesses. The group warns of the “astronomical cost” the planned move will bring, stating “many of us have taken on debt to invest in our children’s future and in the air that we breathe”. Oliver Lord, UK Head of Clean Cities, says: “The Mayor has taken ambitious and successful measures to tackle air pollution in London but scrapping this exemption is at odds with his track record and his commitment on climate.     “Ultimately, small businesses are those set to suffer the most, with the progress towards a cleaner, electric future choked off in an economic situation already fraught with challenges. “How is it right that a dirty diesel van pays the same as a cleaner electric vehicle in the most polluted part of the UK? This defies logic and the best international practice. Now is the time for the Mayor to cement his efforts for change by maintaining the exemption and working on a broader package of support for green freight in the capital”. We are proud to support Clean Cities’ campaign and amplify the news in the likes of The Guardian, BBC News and The Standard. Read more on the story here: https://lnkd.in/e8fgWmvc
