It’s encouraging what this dedicated team of students have researched during this innovative project: “Closed-Loop Neurostimulation for ALS.” They have looked into the possibility of an Active Implantable Medical Device that could deliver real-time, adaptive therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient’s unique needs. This research was brought to life in collaboration with talented students, researchers, and the NeuroTech Leuven team. Why does this matter? Brain disorders like ALS present immense challenges for patients and their families, as the brain progressively loses its ability to control voluntary movements. By integrating AI, feedback control systems, and real-time data analysis, this innovation may pave the way for a new era of personalized healthcare.
