As part of the Walloon Region's REMADE project, CRM Group has recently enhanced its Advanced Manufacturing platform with high-pressure Cold Spray technology. This cutting-edge process allows for metal coatings without heating the object, preserving material properties while ensuring a strong bond. In collaboration with VLM Robotics, we successfully applied a copper coating to a large 3D-printed mold (WAAM), demonstrating the flexibility of Cold Spray on XL objects. 🔧🌍 CRM Group was proud to participate in ICAM 2024 in Atlanta, where our colleagues Marine Jean-Baptiste and Cédric GEORGES shared groundbreaking work in additive manufacturing. 📅 On October 28, Marine Jean-Baptiste presented her research on the valorization of Ti-6Al-4V titanium scrap into high added-value powders for manufacturing technologies. She demonstrated the full process, showing how titanium scrap can be transformed into high-quality powders for SLM (Selective Laser Melting) and DED (Directed Energy Deposition) applications. 📅 On October 31, Cédric Georges presented his work within the Remade project, focusing on the repair of steel parts in the nuclear industry using a robotized Directed Energy Deposition (DED) system. This innovative method allows for automated, high-quality repairs, and similar projects are being developed for the aerospace sector. 🔗 This October 30th, CRM Group participated in the ESTEP Annual Event 2024, where industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers gathered to discuss the latest innovations and strategies for a sustainable future in steel. Our colleague Frédéric van Loo presented on the COACH project, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at transforming blast furnace ironmaking.
