Today we operate all over the world, growing and freezing the finest fresh ingredients. We have five key veg facilities (Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain, Poland) and four key fruit facilities (Serbia, Poland, Morocco, Costa Rica), all located in the middle of the fields and each chosen for its soil and climate. No country is too far, no effort too great and the goal is always the same: the best vegetables and fruits grown in the best possible conditions. The journey of the MD2 pineapple began in 1961, when the Pineapple Research Institute (PRI) in Hawaii, backed by Dole, Del Monte, and Maui Pineapple Company, began developing a new pineapple that would exceed expectations in sweetness, uniformity, and shelf life. After years of research, the exceptional 73-144 variety was selected, a pineapple that could be enjoyed fresh or frozen with unparalleled quality. The fruit was renamed MD2, in honour of Millie Dillard, wife of the general manager of Maui Pineapple, Frank Dillard.
