𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 – 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 There's a lot of buzz around AI, and some remain skeptical, wondering if all the hype and investment will translate into real value. The truth is, AI is already solving significant challenges today. • Mastercard has 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜, boosting detection rates by an average of 20%—and up to 300% in certain cases. • Google DeepMind has developed an 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗲-𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (AMD). • And we’re all familiar with the 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 from Netflix, Spotify, Amazon, and Zalando, helping us 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀. These are big, transformative use cases, but you can start small. Even a modest AI project can create real value. As you explore AI, it’s important to stay mindful of the risks. Just as AI opens new possibilities, it also introduces new challenges. For companies, these risks fall into three main categories: 1. 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀: AI predictions are probabilistic, so sometimes they won’t be what you expect. This could mean incorrect information or, in some cases, outputs that harm the user. 2. 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲: AI systems may be misused, whether intentionally or by those who don’t fully understand how they work. Misuse could expose sensitive data or lead to unintended consequences if the system is applied in ways it wasn’t designed for. 3. 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: As a new and transformative technology, AI exerts pressure on society—from job market disruptions to environmental impact. This can lead to societal and regulatory pressures that companies must be prepared to navigate. AI brings immense value but also new responsibilities for companies. 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗜 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 to learn more about managing these challenges effectively. 📍 Location: MIX Brussels 🗓 Date: November 21, 2024
