59 companies unite to urge for continued commitment to the EU Green Deal   Brussels, 4 November 2024 59 companies and business organisations, including Ecopreneur.eu - The European Sustainable Business Federation, have signed a statement urging the EU to ensure the continuation of the EU Green Deal and utilise existing environmental standards to strengthen European businesses while also serving the climate and nature.   The signatories are leaders in sustainable practices within a wide variety of sectors across Europe, and represent over 800,000 employees and more than €207 billion in 2023 alone. This statement is an acknowledgement of the importance of strong EU-wide laws that provide a unified framework and protect the resilience of businesses in these challenging times.   "Continue pursuing the ambitious goals of the European Green Deal and its timely implementation are key for creating a sustainable, competitive EU economy," says Arthur ten Wolde, Executive Director of Ecopreneur.eu.   In the past few years, the EU achieved significant progress with the EU Green Deal. Attempts to roll back or dilute existing environmental and climate laws threaten to undermine the significant investments already made by businesses to align with the European Green Deal. What European businesses need is a consistent regulatory framework, a level playing field, and a strong commitment to continuing Europe’s leadership in sustainable innovation. Continuing to invest in renewable energy and green technologies is an urgent necessity to propel us forward.   With this statement, we urge the European Commission and Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to stand firm on existing and upcoming environmental standards and to actively champion businesses by prioritising smart and consistent implementation. The stakes are high: maintaining environmental ambition and ensuring consistent, fair implementation are essential to ensure that the EU can nurture a transparent, competitive business environment while driving sustainable economic growth. Prior to the hearings of the designated EU Commissioners in the European Parliament and the new European Commission taking office, Ecopreneur.eu calls on all policy makers to continue pursuing the ambitious goals of the #EuropeanGreenDeal and its timely implementation. In a policy paper, we express our demands and recommendations for the Commission. We believe that the planned #CircularEconomyAct and #CleanIndustrialDeal will be essential for advancing Europe’s sustainable #competitiveness at global level. But how can companies become competitive in a #justtransition process that requires regulatory guidelines and more #transparency? Unique online EU sustainability legislation overview available Brussels, July 16, 2024 – Are you also struggling to keep up with EU legislation? You are not the only one. Today Ecopreneur.eu - The European Sustainable Business Federation.eu, has launched a unique online EU legislation overview that allows you “to see the forest through the trees!” in the words of one of the users. It contains over 70 laws, regulations, directives and other EU initiatives related to the European Green Deal. The list has been compiled by Ecopreneur.eu from publicly available information, is shared via Google sheets and regularly updated. The overview is available for everyone for an access fee depending on the annual turnover of your organisation. Organisations in the membership of Ecopreneur_eu get access for free. Brussels – Ecopreneur.eu, the European Sustainable Business Federation, provides easy access to a list of 42 existing tools, indicators, software solutions, databases, data standards and related applications in relation to sustainability assessment that was recently developed by the EU project ORIENTING. A brief questionnaire (3 minutes) guides users, especially SMEs, directly to one or more existing tools, methods and other applications in relation to Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) of products for specific sectors or purposes such as sustainability reporting, design, or measuring circularity.  https://lnkd.in/erR6fNvH

Ecopreneur.eu - The European Sustainable Business Federation fully supports the business call to the European Council for signing off on and implementing the (already adopted!) #NatureRestorationLaw as soon as possible. Nature and biodiversity are crucial for business. The political pressure against the law is mainly power-driven, motivated by short-term financial revenues and interests only, the result of decades of policy neglect, and detrimental to all European citizens. And in addition, of course, restoration of nature is ultimately crucial for our survival.
