We congratulate our member Association of Consulting Engineers of Serbia (ACES) for their #15Anniversary and for organising a regional conference on the Future Trends in Construction, bringing together the relevant actors in the infrastructure industry. Construction is one of the main contributors to the Serbian GDP, with a 17 billion € investment portfolio over the next three years. Aligning the sector with the #green and #digital transitions requires a strong #collaborative effort, and it is critical to raise the #capabilities of all actors involved, namely the #public administration. Our President, Ines Ferguson, gave the Key Note Speech to highlight the importance of introducing innovative and sustainable approaches from the #early phases to make investments more #competitive and attractive to private investment. Jaap de Koning (Koninklijke NLingenieurs) exposed the benefits of using of #MEAT as the award criteria in public contracts and the revision of the #EU Public Procurement Directive Ulla Sassarsson (Foreningen af Rådgivende Ingeniører, FRI) introduced the transaction cost perspective in procurement, and explained the most frequent procedures used in Denmark. We will continue working closely with Branislav Simovic, Nikola Vladislav Matic and Bojan Dinic in #simplifying procedures, improving #procurement, #educating clients and promoting large competitive #investments in #Serbia, the #Balkans and #CentralEurope.

EFCA was delighted to also be present at the RiNord conference. EU issues included the candidate European Commissioners, EU autonomy and the impact of the outcome of the European elections on the Green Deal. Site visits included the spectacular tunnel that links some of the islands together. A construction site for a new indoor sports arena was also offered by ArtiCon and participants also enjoyed some #FaroeIslands hospitality.
