🛑 Health before profit. When it comes to public health, industry interests—whether in tobacco, alcohol, unhealthy foods, or fossil fuels—are not aligned with ours. Their goal? Profit, not health promotion. The stakes are high, with 2.7 million lives lost each year in Europe due to preventable risks from harmful products. It’s time for policy-makers to step up, ensuring accountability and transparency to protect our health. ⏰ Policy-makers, it’s time to set boundaries. To build environments that prioritise health over profit, policy-makers must limit the influence of industries profiting from harm, including tobacco, alcohol, unhealthy food, and fossil fuel sectors. 👉 Read our key recommendations for transparency, accountability, and integrity in public health policy: https://lnkd.in/eSdyHf8r #CanWeBeSeriousNow 💡 The FILTERED Project (From sILos To synErgies to pRevEnt ncDs) is reshaping this narrative by driving collaborative advocacy and action among civil society organisations across Europe and in Ukraine. FILTERED unites efforts on reducing alcohol harm, tobacco control, and unhealthy diet reduction, fostering strategic alliances and tackling NCD risk factors through an evidence-based, co-creative approach.

🔄 “You wouldn’t invite a fox to a chicken coop. Neither would we.” 💰 ❌Health-harming industries like tobacco, alcohol, and unhealthy food and drinks have an interest in maintaining their sales and profits, not improving health. As part of our FILTERED campaign, we urge EU policymakers to not consider these industries as public health stakeholders. 🤚 When dealing with them or those working to further their interests, policy-makers should ensure that interactions are accountable and transparent. 📊 🔍 ⏰ It’s time to prioritise people’s health over corporate profits. Tomorrow is #WorldStrokeDay! We urge EU policymakers to prioritise stroke prevention and care. Stroke remains a leading cause of death and disability in Europe, affecting men and women differently. Women often experience worse outcomes after stroke, highlighting the urgent need for gender-sensitive approaches to treatment and rehabilitation. A crucial part of effective care is ensuring all patients have access to high-quality, gender-responsive stroke rehabilitation. These programmes are essential in preventing recurrence, improving recovery, and supporting long-term well-being. Let’s work together to make rehabilitation accessible to all. 🧠 🤝 ❤️ 📄 Read EHN Paper on Cardiac and Stroke Rehabilitation: https://bit.ly/4eZuTPl 🔗Discover World Stroke Organization Campaign: https://bit.ly/3NJKeHU Effective action can save lives and improve the quality of care for millions.
