#Proudmoment for the MANOLO Project to build trustworthy efficient #AI for cloud-edge computing -- consortium partner EIT Digital’s Fabrizio Della Pace led a panel discussion at #ADRF24, bringing together leaders of five different EU projects, all with the aim of addressing the most pressing challenges at the confluence of #AI and the #cloud #edge #continuum. Notably, the interactive session revealed the attendees’ concerns when polled, “What are the most important key requirements in the cloud-edge continuum?” The overwhelming response was #privacy, #datagovernance, technical robustness and #safety. Other concerns such as #diversity, non-discrimination, #fairness, societal and #environmental #impacts were an afterthought by comparison. Why? The experts from the AI-DAPT EU Project, EXTRA-BRAIN, MANOLO, PANDORA Horizon Europe Project, and RAIDO project opined that while all of these components matter, unless the technical concerns of privacy and safety are addressed, the potential societal and environmental benefits cannot be realized.
