Say hello to this wonderful group of coaches, mentors and facilitators - our EMCC Global Five Day Challenge Class of July 2024. Once again, our volunteer facilitatators have been helping coaches and mentors with clarity on their applications for individual accreditation (EIA) at Senior Practitioner, Practitioner and Foundation level. The Five Day Challenge (5DC) is a 'get it done' week, with an hour each day spend in a peer mentoring group led by a facilitator. Plus some behind-the-scenes focus on finding paperwork and client logs depending on how organised they've been with filing! Moreover, it's a week of connectivity, of dynamic enquiry and of building lifelong connections. A week of learning and sharing, of deep reflection and fun. Are you an alumnus of the 5DC? Comment below how you found your week - it really does help others decide whether to apply for a place too. The week of mentoring is free to take part, you just pay the normal accreditation fees when you are ready to apply in the same way as if you had assembled the application independently. The next one is in September - see www.emccglobal.org/5DC for details We are grateful to our Class of July 2024 volunteer facilitators and shadowers, without whom we could not run the 5DC: Victoria Orr Agnieszka Ert-Eberdt, MBA, ex. You are invited to our 18 July 2024 EMCC Global GPS Dialogue Effective questioning lies at the very heart of the coaching conversation. With this in mind, Dr Fiona Day 🔹 MBChB FFPH CPsychol and Dr Eva-Marie Graf will lead a conversation based on “Questioning Sequences in Coaching” (QueSCo), the first international and interdisciplinary research project on coaching. QueSCo is funded by national funding organizations from Austria (FWF, Lead Agency), Germany (DFG), and Switzerland (SNF) and runs for 36 months (March 2021 to February 2024). The project is headed by Eva-Maria Graf. QueSCo investigates questioning practices in business coaching. Coaching as a helping profession builds on the interaction between coach and client, addresses clients’ work-related problems and aims to ultimately facilitate clients’ change. The aim of this dialogue is: 👉To share current research findings 👉To discuss practical implications for coaching accreditation, training and practice 👉To learn about issues of interest to providers and practitioners to inform future research 👉To share a coach’s experience of taking part in research Together we will also consider - what does this mean for EMCC Global Competencies & Coach Training? What other aspects (as well as questioning) of coaching communication would be interesting topics for future linguistic research? About Dr Fiona Day Dr Fiona Day is an EMCC Global EIA Master Practitioner and is a Chartered Coaching Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. She is a former system and Board-level medical & public health leader and occupational physician. Fiona specialises in coaching medical and public health leaders, is a coach supervisor, and EMCC Global Quality Award Foundation Level Holder. About Dr Eva-Marie Graf Dr. Eva-Maria Graf is professor for applied linguistics at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria. She specialises in linguistic analysis of professional interaction, with a focus on business coaching. She founded LCPR (Linguistic Coaching Process Research) and published the first linguistic monograph on coaching. She is a trained coach herself, works as a coach trainer and aims at bridging the gap between coaching practice and research Register here: https://vist.ly/3dgvs Denise Whitworth Dr Chandana Sanyal Dr. Julie Haddock-Millar Shelley Crawford
