🌍 This #EarthHour, let’s go beyond turning off the lights and take action for a more sustainable future. Did you know that turning off a single 60-watt incandescent bulb for one hour saves 0.06 kilowatt-hours of energy? While this may seem small, collective actions can lead to significant energy conservation. 💡 At Etex, we contribute through energy-efficient solutions that help reduce carbon footprints in construction. From lightweight building materials that enhance insulation to innovative cladding systems that improve energy efficiency, we are committed to making buildings more sustainable. 🌱 Our superior thermal and acoustic insulation products, such as those from URSA and Superglass Insulation, are designed to enhance energy efficiency and comfort in buildings, creating safer and healthier environments. Join us in the movement to build a better world. World Water Day 2025: Preserving Our Glaciers ❄️ Did you know that glaciers store 70% of Earth’s fresh water and play a vital role in regulating our climate? Yet, climate change is accelerating their melt, disrupting water cycles and threatening water supplies for billions. We have to act now to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, which is why we are committed to reducing our environmental impact through decarbonisation and sustainable water management: 🌍 Reducing direct emissions from our own operations (Scope 1) and indirect emissions from the energy we use (Scope 2), all in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). 💧 Using water more efficiently by saving, reusing, and reducing how much we take from natural sources. Since 2022, we have reduced absolute water withdrawal by 10%, saving the equivalent of 250 Olympic pools or the annual water use of 2,120 households, Learn more about our water management efforts and progress 👉 https://lnkd.in/edw9cvut In the meantime, we continue to take action for a sustainable planet. Together, we can make a difference! #RoadToSustainability2030 #WorldWaterDay #UnitedToInspire #InspiringWaysOfLiving

Circularity is key to creating a sustainable future. That is why we are dedicated to reducing our use of raw materials and minimising waste through our Circularity Roadmap. We are making a difference by: 🔙 recycling over 590,000 tonnes of waste material, primarily gypsum, glass, and XPS, which represents an increase in our recycled content of 10% compared to 2023. 🪶 using 34% more recycled gypsum than our 2018 baseline, with some plants using over 35% recycled gypsum. 🚮achieving zero waste to landfill in 30 sites. 🔬 dedicating 56% of our R&D resources to sustainability, focussing on the continuous substitution of virgin materials with recycled-based alternatives and reducing our CO2 footprint. 🌍 upgrading our 2030 goal to reduce virgin plastic consumption by 30% (up from 20%), aligned with the European Union action plan on recycled plastic. On this Global Recycling Day, we celebrate these achievements and renew our commitment to building a circular future. Together, we can build a more sustainable world. We have just inaugurated our newest plasterboard plant in Bristol, UK!   It is our largest production investment ever - 200 million euros - and a commitment to UK manufacturing as the industry grows.   The expansion, which produces plasterboard for our Siniat brand, is our most efficient plasterboard production line in Europe when considering its line size, speed and complexity.   The plant leverages new technologies to bring efficiency but also sustainability to the forefront of operations: • Increasing local production allows for significant carbon savings by decreasing the need to transport boards from other countries. • The new site is a zero waste to landfill plant - and part of our #RoadtoSustainability 2030 ambitions – which, in the UK, includes rainwater harvesting and increasing product recycled content year-on-year. • We are the first manufacturer in the UK to have recycled content certified in new products (through SCS certification), with recycled content in UK products ranging from 23% up to 45% in plasterboards.   Discover this story in detail via our full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/ejhB4Qzg

Etex remains committed to sustainable practices across our global operations. At our Maipú Plant in Chile, we have implemented a circular approach to water management, focusing on reusing and recycling water in our industrial processes. 🔄 By replacing freshwater with process water in our fibre cement operations, we reduced our Maipú plant’s water withdrawal intensity by 18% in 2024, contributing to our broader company water targets. In 2025, these efforts will save over 4,100 m³—equivalent to more than one and a half Olympic swimming pools—of freshwater per month. With ongoing monitoring, we aim to reduce freshwater consumption by 37% compared to 2024, and ultimately 50% compared to 2023. This initiative aligns with our broader commitment to water, as outlined in our Road to Sustainability 2030, to reduce water withdrawal intensity by 20% by 2030.💦 🎯 Find out more about our Water and Biodiversity efforts here: Water and Biodiversity #RoadToSustainability2030 #UnitedToInspire #InspiringWaysOfLiving
