It’s very peaceful. Craftsmanship has always been at the centre for Ethnicraft.    From our first encounter with Indonesian woodworking artisans, Ethnicraft founders Benoit Loos and Philippe Delaisse have been committed to connecting the dots between great design and the intelligence of the hand.    In 2018, we opened a woodworking training centre in Indonesia to support local craftsmanship. We also have a dedicated workshop in Serbia to train local talents to work with other natural materials such as metal and mineral powders.    Equally, the accessories and textiles are also carefully made.  Our carpets are hand-woven by local craftsmen, while our trays and mirrors are made using traditional handmade techniques.    Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eFEKfBQX #Ethnicraft #craftmanship #woodworking #design #Belgium

🌳 Ethnicraft Hosts the 9th Edition of the BKRK Award: Announcing the Finalists! 🌳 We are honored to host the BKRK Award 2024 the 19th of September at Ethnicraft. This award, now in its ninth edition, is designed to challenge, support, and guide creative talents and professionals on their entrepreneurial journey. Organised by Bokrijk and VAKlab, with Igor Philtjens as the chairman, the award seeks to identify the innovative entrepreneurial professionals of tomorrow, those whose expertise embraces both innovation and future relevance. After exploring themes such as leather, ceramics, bread, textiles, glass, flavor, and braiding, the focus this year is on wood (#HOUT). From an impressive pool of 76 entries, the jury selected ten finalists, who received expert guidance over the summer to enhance their designs. In early September, they presented their refined projects, and we are excited to announce the three finalists: Sara Fraussen with 'Hou(d)t'  Brent Neve and Giel Dedeurwaerder with 'Noest'  Guillaume Pille with 'Cartesian table & stool' These exceptional works captured the attention of the professional jury: Stefan Dusart, Kaspar Hamacher, Veerle Windels, and Pascal Cools. Congratulations to all the finalists for their outstanding work.
