The European Digital Finance Association (EDFA) was glad to participate in France FinTech's #FFT24. A special thanks to Kristen Charvin, Florence de Maupeou, Anaëlle Gautier, and the fantastic France FinTech team for bringing it all together. Alongside some of our members, including ItaliaFintech with Camilla Cionini Visani and Michela Bonifacio and FinanceEstonia with Kaido Saar, we fostered meaningful connections within our community and beyond. These engagements further strengthened our mission to enhance Europe’s global leadership in the financial technology space. At #FFT24, we hosted the 3rd edition of the #StarsofFintech interviews, this time, featuring insightful conversations with Markus Kreuter from zinsbaustein.de, Gauthier Henroz from Chift - One API, and Mattia Ciprian from modefinance. The interviews provided a deep dive into their companies' journeys, the strategic paths they have taken, and the markets they are disrupting, offering a unique perspective on the current and future landscape of financial technology. EDFA's Co-Secretary General, Xavier Corman, participated in a thought-provoking panel discussion on EU regulations in digital finance. The session delved into the evolving regulatory landscape and its impact on innovation, including: - The balance between innovation and regulation - Can Europe’s regulatory frameworks promote growth while safeguarding consumer protection? - Challenges for smaller players - How do #DORA and #MiCA regulations affect startups and smaller fintech companies? - The evolving role of AI and crypto regulation - The potential benefits and risks of preemptive regulation in shaping financial technology’s future. European Digital Finance Association recently convened its Supervisory Board in Milan, hosted by valued member ItaliaFintech. We extend our sincere thanks to Camilla Cionini Visani, Michela Bonifacio, and Sergio Zocchi for their outstanding work in facilitating a productive session. The meeting explored ways EDFA can better represent the Pan-European digital finance community, delved into ongoing collaborations with member organisations, and charted a course for exciting new opportunities in 2025. Following the Supervisory Board meeting, we held the second edition of the "Stars of Fintech" interview series. Through the great interviewer Koen Marcel K Vanderhoydonk we engaged with Ana-Maria Georgescu from Smart Fintech and Joachim Krüger from Two Their insightful discussions explored their motivations, missions, and plans for the future. We look forward to sharing these interviews soon. EDFA was greatly represented at the Milan Fintech Summit, with Alessandra✨ Guion - Gambrill (FINTECH BELGIUM) moderating a session on "Fintech innovation across borders" and Tina Luse (Fintech Latvia Association ) participating in a roundtable on lessons learned in Fintech.
