Today, the EU SME Centre met with H.E. Boštjan Malovrh, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to China, and his team. Representing the Centre were Liam Jia, Team Leader; Weronika Gryglaszewska, Business Advisor; and Filippo Pallaroni, Training Centre Coordinator. Building on the support provided during last year’s Slovenian delegation visit to #China — led by Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon — the meeting centred on strategies to further enhance support for Slovenian #SMEs. The EU SME Centre highlighted its range of support services, including information sharing, first-line advisory, and tailored workshops, aimed at offering a comprehensive overview of the current Chinese market landscape. As Slovenian companies work to navigate the opportunities and challenges of this dynamic market, the Centre reaffirmed its commitment to delivering full and dedicated support. Leveraging its successful collaboration with SPIRIT Slovenia Business Development Agency and the Slovenia-Chinese Business Council Slovensko kitajski poslovni svet - SKPS, the EU SME Centre continues to focus on strengthening its support for SMEs from #Slovenia and other #EU Member States as well as countries participating in the #SingleMarketProgramme.

China is accelerating its green transformation. New policies and incentives create opportunities for European SMEs offering sustainable solutions. In response to growing pollution concerns, the government has taken decisive action in recent years, implementing stricter regulations and green finance mechanisms. These policies are driving demand for energy-efficient buildings, renewable energy, and environmental technologies. In our new article, green development experts from TERAO Asia explain what opportunities #China's push for sustainability is opening for European #SMEs. The 14th Five-Year Plan mandates stricter efficiency standards for new buildings, boosting demand for insulation, smart systems, and sustainable materials. Lower tariffs on low-carbon concrete and advanced HVAC systems create market openings for European businesses with a green edge. Explore new growth areas in #renewable energy technologies, advanced environmental solutions for #wastemanagement, water treatment, air pollution control, #ESG services and more: https://lnkd.in/eCDbNEnN

If you missed our workshop last week, now is the chance to watch it online 📽️ Single-use plastic waste in China reached 2.8 million tons in 2021. The food takeaway industry, which relies on disposable packaging, contributed significantly to this waste production. With ambitious environmental goals, including reaching peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, #China has implemented in recent years new policies and regulations targeting food loss and waste management. The demand for sustainable solutions presents opportunities for European #SMEs, along with tax incentives, streamlined licensing, and administrative support. In this video, industry experts discuss the evolution of the sector and how European businesses can leverage their innovative edge in a complex market. #singleuseplastic #foodloss #wastemanagement https://lnkd.in/emFnpVZN
