  • The European Commission recently published a document entitled 'SME participation in Horizon Europe', a report providing a detailed overview of the participation of #SMEs in the Horizon Europe programme. The study examines the distribution and #funding of SMEs in the various work programmes, verifying whether the programme complies with legal targets and expectations. It also analyses the geographical distribution of participating SMEs, their structural characteristics and their role in collaborative research and innovation projects. The uptake of innovative solutions by all industrial actors is crucial for research and innovation policies aiming at transformative impact and, in particular, the participation of SMEs in Horizon Europe is one of the specific objectives of the programme. Approximately 23.1% of EU SMEs with at least 10 employees carry out research and development, and it is estimated that at least 240,000 European SMEs have developed product or process innovations. https://lnkd.in/dW_S99fa
