🌍 #ECOSYSTEXconference Highlights include our colleague Ekaterina Stoyanova, who presented CISUTAC’s circular textile vision at the #ECOSYSTEXconference! 💡 She shared the stage with Emma Enebog from RISE, discussing new tools for textile waste management 🌱 Ekaterina first updated attendees on the EU's policy landscape, specifically addressing the #Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation (#ESPR) and the new textiles Delegated Acts, before highlighting the CISUTAC Shared Visions for a more circular EU textile industry. These visions detail various aspects of #circularity, identifying innovation gaps and proposing potential solutions♻️ Congratulations to Textile ETP for organising such an interesting and successful meeting!
Our morning at the #ECOSYSTEXconference also offered attendees the opportunity to participate in a double session first focusing on the results from the cross-project collaboration within ECOSYSTEX 🤝 Carla Fité Galan presented key outcomes of ECOSYSTEX Technical Group on eco-design for safe-and-sustainable materials, products and processes. We then heard about contributions and perspectives on ESPR and DPP from 4 ECOSYSTEX member projects: CISUTAC, PESCO-UP, TRICK Project and CIRPASS-2 - Digital Product Passport. First, Ekaterina Stoyanova from EURATEX - European Apparel and Textile Confederation and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden's Emma Enebog respectively shared CISUTAC's shared vision for a circular textile and clothing sector, and new textile waste management tool. Andreas Schneider and Piero DeSabbata then provided an explanation of CIRPASS 2 and TRICK and their work on the DPP, while Traci Kinden from TEXroad presented the imaging and data requirements developed within PESCO-UP and the importance of data exchange🌍 The morning concluded with an analysis of the TRICK Project's Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) studies. Valentina Fantin from ENEA presented the results of the studies on traditional and technical clothing, and her colleague Sara Cortesi explored the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of the PEF method. Francesco Davì from the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency (Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli) shared key lessons from their involvement in the project. 🎤 Stay tuned as, this afternoon, more presentations dive into key topics related to circular future of the textile industry with HEREWEAR and TRICK.

Our member TEXFOR - Confederación de la Industria Textil is organizing a new edition of TexMeeting, the annual conference on #Textiles, which will take place on October 16 in Barcelona. This edition is entitled "Era of Change or Change of Era?". We are living in a period of constant and very rapid changes, which affect all areas: from the technological revolution, with #AI, #5G, the rise of Big Data, etc., to the growing awareness of #sustainability and the preservation of the #environment in the face of climate change, or changes in economic and #labour models. Are these significant changes that could be seen as a true “change of era”, a new paradigm? Or perhaps we are just in an “era of change” in which the system prevails but we have different tools to function socially and economically? EURATEX DG, Dirk Vantyghem, will contribute to this debate. So, don't miss the chance to participate in the event. Register to the link below 👇

Last week, EURATEX together with Cefic , AISE International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products and Euromines, organised a meeting on market pull. Check the post below to know more 👇
Which market pull measures are needed to bring the “green premium” for more sustainable products to market in Europe as well as supporting a business case for investments 💡? This was the question on the table at today’s #AntwerpDialogue organised together 🤝 with EURATEX - European Apparel and Textile Confederation, Euromines and AISE International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products. With a small group of experts, we discussed: Which new measures could be effective & efficient for different groups and ensure a level playing field with imports? Which product features should market pull measures target and how to define them 🎯? How can market pull measures strengthen the Single Market 💪? Thank you to everyone who took part, including Kerstin Jorna, Director-General, EU Business, Aurel Ciobanu-Dordea 🇪🇺, Director DG ENVI and MEP Bruno Tobback! Stay tuned for recommendations to be published on the Antwerp Dialogue website: antwerp-declaration.eu #AntwerpDeclaration #IndustrialDeal

The #EuropeanWeekofRegionsandCities reminds us how crucial the textiles & clothing industry is for many EU regions. Based on centuries of craftmanship and tradition, the textiles industry has created wealth and prosperity for many regions across Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, and others. Looking forward, we need to build on that identity, and develop regional #partnerships which gather the #textiles industry, regional authorities and other relevant stakeholders. EURATEX is actively engaged in strengthening that regional dimension, i.a. through its #RegioGreenTex project and the #TCLFSkillBridge initiative under the TCLF Pact for Skills, which aims at supporting regional #skills partnerships. Working at the regional level allows to develop strategies which are tailor made to the needs of the local textiles industry. Check out the most important “textile regions” in the EU below! #EURegionsWeek #TextilesEU #Reskilling #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #Pact4Skills #TCLFSkillBridge

📢 EURATEX publishes its quarterly economic update. The textile and clothing (T&C) industry continues to face significant challenges. In Q2, the sector showed ongoing weakness amidst elevated energy prices, economic uncertainty, and geopolitical tensions. Major textile-consuming industries, including clothing, construction, and automotive, remain impacted by the manufacturing crisis. The EU trade deficit has widened, with imports rising while exports fell. Weak demand and uncompetitive energy costs continue to hinder the recovery of the EU T&C industry. A strategic response is needed to overcome these barriers and restore growth.
