🔸Supporting the growth of 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 requires better education and a resilient market infrastructure. More than 60 asset managers, distributors, investors, and partners gathered in Bangkok, #Thailand, on 10 July to exchange insights on the latest trends within the private market fund industry at an event organised by Euroclear FundsPlace. After the opening by Luc Vantomme from Euroclear, Audrey The-Dumas from Cambridge Associates described the changing landscape of private market funds, concluding that they have clearly earned their place in institutional and High-Net-Worth Individuals (#HNWI) portfolios. However, education and awareness on the specific characteristics of #PrivateMarket #Funds is critical, as the complexity and variety of private market investments have increased. The panel discussion with Prabhat Ojha from Cambridge Associates, Yuanyuan Sabrina Meng, CFA from Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., Premal Vadgama and Winston (Yukun) Jin both from #Euroclear, concluded that investing in #PrivateMarkets is a long-term engagement; choosing the robust and resilient partners to support investment decisions and operational activities is key. There appeared a clear need to converge bespoke operational process for each private market asset, to a standardised and automated process covering all #Fund #AssetClasses - mutuals and alternatives. The award recognises the addition of a green ECB-eligible General Collateral basket to €GCPlus, enabling #triparty #repo investors to expand their sustainable investment options, whist maintaining liquidity and a low-risk profile. During a panel interview, Valérie Urbain (CEO of Euroclear group), Francesco Vanni d'Archirafi (Chairman of Euroclear group), and Daniel Miseur (Chief People & Communication Officer) shared their insights. They emphasised the positive impact of promoting financial stability and social inclusion through education. The 2024 Euroclear Financial Award winner is ColorVital, whose innovative idea 'Colorfil' exemplifies our sustainable vision. ColorVital developed a surgical thread (or suture) infused with a solution derived from red cabbage juice. This thread, to be used in veterinary surgery, acts as a colour indicator, helping vets detect skin infections based on changes in skin pH. That's why we've partnered with The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and Clearstream, with the support of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), to publish the whitepaper on 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀. This paper lays out the blueprint for establishing an industry-wide digital asset ecosystem, driving adoption of digital assets in capital markets. But that's not all!
