Eurodoc would like to take the opportunity to give a shout out to our Ukrainian member organisation: The Young Scientist Council (Рада молодих учених при Міністерстві освіти і науки України) has, over the course of the still ongoing war, tirelessly advocated for the improvement of the conditions of early career researchers in Ukraine and has reminded all of us of the importance of rebuilding a strong higher education and research sector in Ukraine – a fundamental responsibility for all of us who care about the future of European democracies. 💻 Join a webinar on the challenges facing international researchers hosted by @ReMO_COST! 🗓️ Wednesday, August 21 🕔 5 p.m. (CEST) 👩🎓 The speaker of the webinar is Murat Gunes earned his Ph.D. in Micro and Nanotechnology at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Türkiye. He completed the Marie Sklodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Paris Sud, France, and the MSCA Tecnipsring Cofund Fellowship at the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM-CSIC) in Spain. During his career, Dr. Gunes founded startups Enerins and He3 Llc. He volunteers as the Chair of the Bridging Business and Science Working Group at the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA), where he was formerly Secretary of ExCom. He is a founding member of the Turkish Chapter and the Science Diplomacy Task Force of the MCAA. Murat Gunes regularly organizes conferences and workshops and mentors young researchers.
