❗ Gaseous fuels are essential for achieving the #energytransition, and become even more crucial when deviations from desired pathways occur along the way. 🔦 Natural, renewable, and low-carbon gases can bring #resilience and #competitiveness to our decarbonisation, while balancing the energy trilemma of affordability, security, and sustainability. This report is titled 'Ensuring #Resilience in the European Energy Transition: Strategic Use of Gases to Meet EU Climate Ambitions' and was commissioned by Eurogas. 💡 Based on the findings, Eurogas urges European leaders to act now to deliver essential gases on time. ⛽ Gasum has recently opened the largest #biogas station in Norway at Bærum! 🚛 Built in cooperation with landowner Eiendomsspar and logistics company Gunnar Knutsen AS, this filling station offers compressed and liquefied biogas. These sustainable fuels offer alternatives for long-haul traffic, and opportunities to decrease emissions on the road to a net-zero future. 🚚 This construction of this station corresponds to growing interest in biogas as a solution for decarbonising the #transportsector. Indeed, it is a cost-effective means to do this, while also contributing to European #energysupply. 🔗 The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D) is a cornerstone of the EU Green Deal, aiming to drive sustainable practices across global value chains. However, its complexity poses real challenges for businesses, potentially creating unintended barriers in implementation. ☑️To make sustainability both achievable and impactful, we urge the European Commission to start a competitiveness assessment, allow for at least 2 years time to become compliant with the legislation, and harmonise rules. 🏠 This summer, PROXIGAS - Associazione Nazionale Industriali Gas released a study on the decarbonisation of residential heating in Italy.   🔦 Gaseous energies can provide real emissions reductions in buildings.
